Only thing that might save the CAD regions from one of the warmest Octobers of all time is clouds/NE flow. We might get a front finally somewhere around October 15-18 but it will be above average about every day for at least the first 15 days of the month.
Our forecast is showing either a major front or backdoor front coming thru around the 8th or 9th. Low 80's before, low 70's after for about 5 days before warming up.

What a beautiful 1st day of October. After a low of 58, we had a high of 76. Dew points in the upper 50's and a brisk NE wind made for a very nice fall day.

CLT is at 81 degrees this hour, the only major observation station in the 80s in the state. GSO and RDU are at 73. It seems CLT has been consistently warmer than other Piedmont stations for months now. What is going on at CLT?
Heat Island effect?

It's out to sea and the Euro was wrong.
All models were wrong at one point. Most had them either hitting the coast and moving inland or stalling right at the coast.

Wow, 20% chance of rain and we are now up to 1.40" for the day and it is pouring. Forecasters once again got it wrong. I'll update whenever the rain ends.
Update: We are now at 2.36" for the day. Rain has stopped for now.

Not sure I’d say too early as it could hit as early as SUN PM/mon am
.Considering it hasn't even formed yet, it's too early. Once it becomes a depression, then the models will hone in on it and we will get a better idea of what it will do. Then someone can start a thread. My opinion of course.
