New Bern here and this will be our 2nd snow in 2 years. They are generally few and far between. Been here since 96 and our biggest was 8 inches in 2010 I believe. Last year we had 5 inches. The most for this area was in 1989 at just under 12 inches. Wilmington had over a foot with that storm.

Perfect map. Everyone in NC and most of SC sees snow and us in Eastern NC gets the bullseye. I'm all in.

Low of 24, just got above freezing after noon.

I want another blizzard. Been in 4 in my lifetime. The famous 1980 one in Virginia Beach, 1996 Presidents day while in the mountains, a 2 mini blizzards in 1989 in Virginia Beach. I'm due.

Cold day today. High of 44 after a low of 22.

Was just reading our local NWS forecast and they are saying we have at least a 50% chance of blizzard conditions Saturday night and into Sunday morning. Didn't want to pop in here until tomorrow but man , I am starting to get excited. Please don't crush my hopes Mother Nature.

Sun came out and temp soared up to 42 at 12:30 pm. Then the clouds came back and the wind picked up and temp has been dropping ever since. Expected to bottom out tomorrow morning at 18 or so.

Ended up with less than .10" of ICE and .62" of rain and some snow flurries last night. Interesting night.

Y'all are getting my hopes up once again. Bet it gets crushed again.

Light snow falling at 36 degrees. Surprise surprise.

I always wondered what happen if it was 20 and a heavy downpour hit. Would it ice up immediately or run off?

Busy for us on the coastal plain. Went from 2 feet of snow to less than a tenth of an inch of ice.

Amazed to see the difference between the Southeast nc and northeast nc. From the mid 40's in Elizabeth City to around 30 in Wilmington to 60's at Hatteras to the teens inland.

Temp just went above 32 with drizzle so no more ice.

31 and light freezing rain here. Branches and car are coated. Maybe .10 at the most. Temp was supposed to be up in the 40's right now.

27 and nothing. Supposed to rise into the 30s by 2am before precip starts. 

What a frigid day. High was 46 just after midnight. Daytime high was 33. Low is out current temp of 26. Wind blew all day. Windchills were easily in the teens 

29/19 here on the coast at 9:45 am with mostly high clouds.

And what a front it was. Had a high yesterday of 54. This morning it is 29 with a wind chill in the teens easily.

It is really amazing how horrible the models are at forecasting winter storms 5 days out in 2026.

Woke up this morning and was actually relieved to see that we have gone from a potential ICE storm to all rain with a mixing on Saturday and Sunday night. My wife is disabled and even though I am set up for loss of power, I am not set up loss of heat. The 2 feet shown a few days ago was a wish but I knew it was fantasy.

Low of 26 with heavy frost once again.
