Wow! In terms of light freezes, KSAV has had them as late as April 16th! But that 32 was way back during a colder era, 1962. However, we’ve much more recently in early April had 2 light freezes in 2007 and even a 32 on April 3rd just 5 years ago!

We hit 30 that morning. Much of NC away from the coastal areas were in the 20's on that morning.

Ehhh, below normal in mid to late March is not that bad. For my area I'd be shocked if we get below 30 again until end of the year.

I know that we have had hard freezes in March, usually early to mid, before so I don't count out the 20s until the end of the month.

It’s because Feb 1-12 2026 has been brutal (coldest in many years) while Feb 1-12 of 2025 was the warmest in many decades in much of SE.

True but early January was touchy for many of us. I didn't get below freezing until the middle of the month where as Jan 2025 was brutal until the last week. I guess it all evened out.

I had a very mild morning low of 45.9° after a high yesterday of 66.2°. This morning was the first since January 14th that the temperature didn't fall below freezing overnight in my backyard. Yesterday was a big snowmelt day and in its wake, I have noticed a few patches of snow mold.

Never heard of that. We had a low of 54 and ended with .17" of rain. Nothing left but dirty piles of snow in parking lots.
