  1. All I would add to this discussion after the last several years (not to mention this past weekend) is that I'd prefer to see it hitting Tampa/Gainesville, FL at this stage.
  2. It's about half freezing rain here now, still some sleet mixed in
  3. Not sure literally in my yard but FFC has Lawrenceville at 29 and Gainesville at 27. I’m exactly between them.
  4. Incredible how different it is in the Atlanta metro, even by tens of miles. I’m about 10-15 minutes south of Gainesville near Buford and it’s been pouring sleet for the last 15 minutes. Zero rain.
  5. Just saw the SPC's discussion...it's about to get real for Atlanta and points NE, we're sitting at 27 degrees with a DP of 26 and this on the way. We've got about a quarter inch glaze/crust on the roads already, steady drizzle the last hour. That's a lot of rain headed here. The mesolow comment is interesting too, causing some helicity south of here as well which is increasing tornado chances for south Georgia and SE Alabama. Looks like the CAD is gonna hold strong here during the duration.
  6. I know, we’re well NE of Atlanta and still at 38 degrees. I know there’s room here based on incoming dewpoints but starting to wonder. .
  7. I think it’s awesome how it’s almost 50 degrees here NE of ATL with no precipitation anywhere in sight or on the horizon. Unreal.
  8. Some of the shorter term models are now showing barely any precip in north Georgia at all until the system passes off to the east.....it's almost impossible to believe after the model runs we've seen the last few days but here we are.
  9. We're a couple of runs away from low end severe weather potential here in the SE.
  10. 18Z GFS shows a classic, if we could follow up this event with one next Friday it would be epic. We're at about 3.5 inches of snow on top of sleet here NE of Atlanta.
  11. CAD in effect now NE of Atlanta, winds are howling out of the NE, down to 42 here. - Buck
  12. It really has been consistent with this solution for quite awhile now, It’ll be a nice win if it nails it. If we can get the low to swing though and give us another couple of inches like SnowGoose said on the backside it would really be a great event.
  13. FFC just added a few more metro Atlanta counties to the Winter Storm Warning including Forsyth and Gwinnett, also as L.G.L. Just said above, a high wind warning as well, regardless of amounts here this looks like it’ll be a real mess. - Buck
  14. backside snowfall still going on as far west as western Alabama at hour 84, unreal.
  15. Oh man, the NAM verbatim is a monster for north Georgia, by hour 69 has the rain snow line south of Atlanta, hr. 72 has mixing well into middle Georgia, temps below freezing well south of Atlanta. If this were to verify being less than 70 hrs out, it would be a pretty big one. - Buck
  16. Newnan is a very large suburb. This better lift soon or there’s gonna be major issues.
  17. It’ll move well south of the city itself, but it is making a beeline for the FFC radar site.
  18. It’s going to be entering the southern Atlanta suburbs in the next hour. If it holds together. Yikes.
  19. If one’s gonna get Atlanta, that’s probably it. The environment down there is relatively undisturbed compared to further north.
  20. Looks like a Tornado Warning may be needed ASAP for the Birmingham cell near Fultondale very soon.
  21. Major debris signature over Seneca, SC heading towards Clemson.
