  1. *Raises hand from the back* I remember it very well. It flooded like heck here in NW NJ (western Morris county to be exact) those days. If I recall, that was the winter that it either snowed or iced every Wednesday for like 7 weeks straight. Talk about being stuck in a pattern. Back to lurking...
  2. Snow is melting, the practice green will be clearing, time to start rolling some putts... and yes, Play ball. Go Mets.
  3. Good bye long summer days :( But, on the plus side, footballs starts (usually, this year is just strange) and golf courses look gorgeous:
  4. I'll take it under consideration. I want to see how these next 2 weeks play out.
  5. Not in NJ. Murphy shut them down. No golf for me until, I'm hoping, Memorial day(ish) no driving ranges are open either. It's a ghost town here in NJ.
  6. My guess is, if they can start by July 4th, they can play 81 games and finish on time. If they could start by Memorial Day (big IF) they could get in 100 games.
  7. Stuck inside, warm weather is just going to depress me.
  8. Please tell me that's just cold bias? Not that it matters, we are all stuck inside for April anyway.
  9. It was nice not to have a big salt build up on the cars and roads this winter. Nor were there many of those big ugly snow banks that just collect dirt and car soot on the side of the roads.
  10. I actually took the day off from work. I had 1 day left to use before I lost it before our new year started and what a day to have off. After lunch with the wife (who worked remotely) I hit the driving range. And it was quite busy there too. It was nice to come home and a lot of the windows were open, along with the sliding door in the living room. A day like yesterday really recharges my batteries. I know a lot of folks on here love the winter and snow, but this is the weather I live for.
  11. It certainly feels like it today. Much prefer this over the last few March's.
  12. 72 here in western Morris county, light breeze. Perfect day, really.
  13. You mean like snow storms that never develop?
  14. We got a trace of snow here in western morris/eastern Warren counties. With the sun and temps in mid 40s, I expect it to be gone by sunset. Bring on Spring
  15. I had an appointment in Morris County around 3 PM and my wife was like "you seriously going to drive in this?" So it must have been much worse here in western Morris county than NYC.
  16. I just googled NYC blizzard 1888 to see pictures. Holy cow, that's crazy. What I'd like to know is, was there a quick warm up right after? If so, the flooding would have been tremendous. Because I recall winter of 93/94, it either snowed or iced every Wednesday for like 6 weeks straight. Finally one day we hit like 60 something and it just flooded. Can't imagine NYC in 1888 being able to handle that.
  17. That's interesting that 01-02 is in that list with so little snow. I recall a big storm in January 2002. Granted, those are NYC numbers and I'm in NW NJ, so perhaps NW NJ cashed in. However, this was the same day that the famous Raiders at Patriots "Tuck Rule" playoff game was played. It snowed big time in Foxboro that evening. Is it possible that the storm managed to hit NW NJ and somehow get to Southern New England without slamming NYC?
  18. My favorite part of that day? Being at work, seeing the snow falling and it looking like January and having WFAN on the radio and Mike and the Mad Dog are just laughing while watching the game on tv and killing Steinbrenner for not canceling the game. I feel pretty confident that won't be an issue this year.
  19. I remember those hot days summer of 95. My girlfriend at the time thought I was nuts for wearing a black t shirt on one of them. Big mistake lol.
  20. That rings a bell. But the Yankees home opener that sticks with me is April 1996 and you could barely see the field on TV. But back on topic, woke up this morning and was surprised to see the sun and it wasn't that cold out (37 according to my car here in NW NJ).
  21. Yes, I remember that winter starting off with a bang. Big snow storm on Christmas eve (I think?).
  22. And if I recall correctly, 2002 was a very Warm and dry summer. Perhaps we get that this year?
