  1. Leesburg is gonna get rain now because you didn't put in the effort. Good going.
  2. wouldn't recommend that if you like having running water
  3. light to mod snow - everything covered.
  4. snow has commenced here in Tenleytown
  5. the air is not as dry as it was on Sunday night - 29/13 here in upper NW DC.
  6. Correction: Short Pump is a snow *census-designated place in unincorporated Henrico County.
  7. let's all have a nice chuckle that Huntsville, AL has gotten more snow this winter than NYC.
  8. wild how much colder the valley is right now compared to even C'ville (30F) or the 95 corridor (low-mid 30s). Not often we see a spread that wide.
  9. the microclimate there is insane. looks like SHD got down to -1F - only 20F there now. The urban corridor mostly stayed in the 20s - 31F here now (35F at DCA).
  10. I remember when we were kids and ND was playing in a big game, my Nana couldn't watch. So she'd leave the room and make us tell her what was happening lol. I was like that tonight.
  11. PSU should be able to recruit better. You have the Philly, NYC, and to a lesser extent DMV metros right there.
  12. 32/20 on the day here (now 25F). DCA had 34/23 (currently 29F).
  13. that's odd there are freeze warning in SE GA. Their growing season should be over by now, right? Or maybe protocol down there is just to always issue them if <32F temps are expected.
  14. I mean I get it in some areas - where he lives, there are students that live way up in the mountains at 3000+ft. Those roads are treacherous in optimal conditions. I remember Augusta County schools being closed some days when we were sunny and clear in the city. However, you go up into the mountains - different ballgame. But Fairfax County? Come on.
  15. looks like we have a new land windspeed record! Move over Tropical Cyclone Olivia!!
  16. Feb 2015 in NYC was extremely cold - the Hudson was mostly frozen over right to downtown. But it was only in Feb 2016 where NYC recorded its only sub-zero reading since 1994.
  17. was thinking today they would record a sub-freezing high, but nope.
  18. yep - it's part of the inevitable aging process. "Those young kids are soft!!"
  19. would be kinda funny if we had massive blizzards every decade on the 6th year of that decade. So far it's the trend since 1996 (I'll give us Feb 2006 since DC north was pretty good).
