Parsing over nooners. Looks like North America coalition vs the Germans.
let's see what the Europeans have to say in a bit. They'll probably align with the Germans to form the axis powers of models determined to ruin our winter.

The hell happened on here last night? I woke up to a notification and a message from Flathead that I have no idea what it means.

Anyway, Ava going 2-4 along PA line, 1-2 into Baltimore, less for those who live in the deserts like Crofton
2-4 along the M/D line? Wow. -
For the love of God...
Just overheard a conversation on the other side of the office. Dude is telling a couple of coworkers that we're getting 5-8" of snow Saturday. One of the women asks the dude where he gets his weather info, to which he replies "S&S Stormchasing on Facebook...those guys seem to be the best."
Ugh.
I marched my fat a** right on over and set 'em straight.

They’ve always been terrible. I’ll never understand how they developed such a large following
It was during the 2009-10 winter. They just happened to be right more often than not because that winter was just that good. Sort of like JB.- 1

Not worried about dry. Give me a cold pattern and the snow will eventually come....and stay.

We’ve now reached the stage where many are expecting a flip to a wintry pattern. There will be weenie suicides every time a model takes snow away.

In February of ‘94 I was at Penn State Altoona. The entire state of Pennsylvania was under a state of emergency and Penn State closed (that never used to happen). I will never forget I went to get gas and the pumps didn’t work. It was -20.

The mid-Atlantic forum is like being best friends with a bipolar person. Today is the best day ever and tomorrow probably won’t be.

No mention of the 18z gfs. Sheesh
That good? -
If there is a silver lining in all this, I would think it’s all the refreezing that is happening in the arctic as a result of how strong the PV is. Of course, selfishly, I want cold and snow here, but I would think a strong PV is healthy for the planet.

The cold kills bugs, so it’s needed.
Yep. And bacteria....and invasive plants/animals.... -
Just my opinion.....why would anyone want sugarcoating? Yeah it sucks when we have weeks on end of 40s and 50s in midwinter. But wishcasting should be reserved for accuweather forums or twitter.

Getting rocked in southern York county.

I vote to keep the banter and more serious forecasting discussion all in one thread. It's what makes this thread cool. Don't have to walk on egg shells the whole time.

It is only Saturday, it is very possible by tomorrow morning all short term models bump north and we rain. I'm just basing off model trends today. We have seen this happen many times. Models pull us in then they slowly back off to just about nothing.
Could go the other way too.... -

Is it bad that I'm more interested in this thread than the anafront tonight/tomm?

@Bob Chill how would you like to try the high lattitude look of 1997/98 without the mid latitude pac firehose flood from the super nino? Just a thought. On a more serious note its nice to be heading towards the holidays with guidance trending towards a cold/stormy look.
I think we all fear a tropical Christmas. It's the ultimate weenie nightmare.
