  1. Quickly ran out to the Metro station parking building again as there were some super funky clouds on the cusp of the storms entering. Could see the embedded cell which is hitting Ashburn right now. DSC_3506-2.thumb.jpg.6fc381f85a367b0446df1d49e0e2eb2b.jpgDSC_3509-2.thumb.jpg.73ed53c2759e7f930bce31c0f252d26c.jpg

    The coming of Gozer?

Nothing like doing a trash can chase before you have your morning coffee. Our whole street for blocks is riddled with them this morning. I got ours, and all my close in neighbors' cans and put them in safe places, but farther down the lane is an obstacle course...lol

I noticed that there is trash everywhere from the wind the last few weeks.  Awful.

Current temp of 47 is the low.  Only .42" of total pecip here.  Man, those southerly winds were screaming yesterday, had a few friends commenting on just how strong they were and sharing pics of damage.  "Opposite" winds can always wreak a special kind of havoc.

My son played a soccer game in those winds, and I've never seen anything like it.  It made it difficult to do anything, really.

  4. We are not the only ones enjoying this wet and stormy Sunday. This fellow found himself a thick girl but she's playing hard to get. All eggs get safely relocated to the pond down the street teaming with other wood frogs and various other tadpoles and eggs.

I went outside and heard the toads trilling. They are on the move tonight.

  5. They do. I give my opinions in here too, mostly on the weather. I don’t find it necessarily off topic or “non weather related” to discuss the impact of terminating hundreds of very intelligent people in an agency that maintains/improves/provides weather forecasts and life saving warnings to all US and maritime interests, free and open access to computer modelling, analysis and data that all private weather entities (including free model sites) and weather enthusiasts like yourself use. All for an annual cost to the taxpayer that amounts to less than two months subscription to DT’s newsletter. But that’s just my opinion I suppose.

This. It is very related to what we talk about every day.
