This thread is becoming a war between the best possible outcome and the worst possible outcome. The answer likely lies somewhere in between.

Listen, I agree that this stretch sucks (good Maple sugaring weather though for the next few days). And I agree nothing is guaranteed. However, I am going to go with what many have said before. If we can't get snow with the look we have for late February/early March with a -NAO, +PNA, El Nino, Strat warm, what are we doing here?
If we fail, Phillies baseball is not far away and that's fine with me.

Model PBP.
Sure, just as long as we are not always bringing up how it could fail when it's that far out. Maybe 5 days out, but not 2 weeks.

Too much analysis on a storm 2 weeks away. Plus, this is just the beginning of the pattern we've been looking forward to.

We’re about 7 days away from tracking mode coming back.
.I don't think anyone is using this thread anymore. There's a new one for mid-late February.

31 this AM breaking the no below freezing streak of a week or so.
Still could not get below freezing here. It’s been eight days.- 1

Bottom line…..we’re impatient and the longer we have to wait the more we doubt that anything notable is coming. I talk myself out of this stuff way too easily. 2 days ago I was feeling very confident. The reason I’m not now? Reading this board, haha.

You don’t want to know what I would have to do with my underwear. It would be epic. Let’s start praying now.

Noted northeast Pennsylvania meteorologist Mark Margavage on X/Twitter predicted lots of cold and snow for the region with a polar vortex warning. So far, this idea has not worked out. This has been the 6th warmest winter to date in the Scranton/Wikes-Barre area, and looks poised to climb over the next week.
The guy is horrible. I think Ji called him Mark Margarbage and I nearly spit out my coffee.

Some days, that smell from the paper mill in Spring Grove can make it a long way.
I live about 5 miles from it. I can confirm.

We need a lot to go right for this event to work out, but at least we have a chance.
I agree. Better than 2+ weeks of no chances and torch.

7z Euro is basically rain for all despite some mix or snow in higher elevations. It even pulls the plug on high totals in NE.
It reminds me of a mid March storm. Basically no cold air and elevation dependent. -
It was kind of a kick in the groin to read that - soured my day.
Oh well. It's his opinion. It's a highly educated opinion, but could still be wrong.

Honestly we need a bunch of rain to wash all the salt off the roads. It is mind blowing how much they dumped with the last couple storms. Very bad for our vehicles.
.....not to mention what it does to the natural world....
