Cranmore reporting 4 new. That seems low honestly
Yeah agree. Woke to 3" of new snow here and that's with the melting/compacting that's happening (35 degrees), so I've gotta imagine they got more

Mansfield at 24F at 4000ft and MWN is 19F at 6000ft.
There’s still some cold up there.
Good - I got a Mount Washington Valley Sampler Pass, which gives you 35 days of skiing at all the MWV resort(Attitash, Wildcat, Black, Cranmore, Pleasant and a few more, including Bretton Woods which of course I have a season pass for so it’s no use) for $300 and I haven’t used a single day yet. Hopefully this storm helps them. Otherwise I’m stuck skiing Bretton Woods lol

Sweet. Have a race at Attitash on Monday

Going in the opposite direction here, temp dropped back to 31 and decent snow. Veeeeeery windy though so it’s blowing everywhere

Cool, Mount Washington winds are out of the due south. So the wind must be funneling right up the notch. Once you get to that turnoff the wind is going over the Lafayette and down sloping at that point. I have noticed that is a real snowhole. It is amazing how a few miles make such a difference in weather.
Yes that spot often has no snow while a few miles in either directions are fully covered.
In a bizarre twist, now that it’s warmed to 32 it’s actually snowing moderately hard. I’ll never understand mountain weather lol

Just cracked 32 here, some of the best downsloping I’ve seen in a while lol. With no upslope to follow, it seems, this just ain’t our storm.

He just needs to move to the top of a hill that doesn’t get any CAD/radiational cooling. You get the elevation snowstorms but also aren’t rotting at 46F when it’s 65F a couple hundred feet off the deck. When the cutters come, you can clear that driveway easily.
That pretty much describes my area. Except for the rad cooling, we get plenty of that

Got caught in a snowrricane in Franconia Notch. Holy cow I’m glad to be home. Very cool to see the differences the mountains make. You go from a blizzard in the notch to literally not a flake as you exit 93 onto rt 3, just to the northeast of Mt LaFayette.

Our P&C says 3-7; I’ll take the under. I think Conway could do decently well though, especially closer to Bartlett/Attitash. They really struggle to warm up down there

Booked a trip to Jamaica for NH school vacation week. Feet of snow are guaranteed.

I believe Attitash base elevation is even lower. My friends live five minutes from there and they said there are a lot of brown patches on the lower trails.
Hopefully they all net gain even if it turns wet for a bit.
They’re actually just about the same; Attitash may be 50 ft higher or so but both are right around 600 ft. Attitash does better with snow though given its location at the base of the notch and northern exposure. Not sure that the natural base matters at this point - it’s all about snowmaking anyways until further notice. Cranmore does have a lot of charm, I’ve only skied it a couple of times in conjunction with my kids races but I’ve really enjoyed it. Skies bigger than one would think. Can be a bit icy though but of course we are spoiled coming from Bretton Woods which is probably the least icy resort in the northeast that I know of. From Conway you do have a ton of options to choose from though if Cranmore is not looking good, between Bretton Woods, Attitash, Wildcat, Black, Cranmore, Pleasant Mt, and if you are ok driving a bit longer Sunday River is not that far either

Alex should get a good base.
Maaaaaybe. If it’s marginal and we get any downsloping we are cooked.
Sneaky cold today though - low of -3. First subzero of the season

Aren’t they getting a big lift upgrade this year?
.Yeah they’re finally replacing the old summit chair which takes 7.5 hours to make it to the top. It’s going to be a game changer, I love that section at the top, it’s got beautiful scenery and a really nice vibe but was so painful to get to. Expected to be in place for the next ski season.

Lol. My lowest have been 3.2 in November, 1.4 in December and 9.9 in January. Currently 10 so we’ll cool the January low some tonight

They’ve had some legit stuff west of us though, in the Midwest and down Front Range. I’ve seen those outbreaks referenced by many Mets.
Gotcha. I thought that was a local reference

Drizzle here, but temperature seems to be going down and didn't make it anywhere near the upper 40s as forecasted (currently 35.8). Unless we get more significant melting the rest of the day this will be a net gainer for most if not all ski resorts, even the ones like Bretton Woods that generally do really bad in these setups.
