  1. Well the old 'nac is callin' for a snowstorm at the end of the month...and the last time we got as warm as Monday (2000) we got one late Jan...
  2. Not just in here...but the entire northeast part of the forum not named central PA or upstate NY, lol All the I-95 forums are getting the same way...so we gon' have to get something! Ya know, this is like a test to see who can stay above it all even when it looks the worst. I mean this is when ya gotta have an escape hatch so it doesn't swallow you up. It could be that placing the focus on more important things is the way out...(easier said than done, I know, lol)
  3. That's kinda where I'm at too. Not buying into this until we some more north solutions...Don't wanna get in the business of trying to will something north from Georgia. I mean, we ain't dealt with a ton of suppression this season yet, but all it would take is that 50/50 we need being TOO strong.
  4. A cutter probably ain't a fail scenario here...just the squash factory (ack, I don't like squash...I find it a rather revolting vegetable)
  5. Seeing what? (Of course you're ahead of us, lol)
  6. Yeah I mean...I'm not sure how people can look at the last 6-7 years of overall snow mediocrity and then suppose it's a great mystery why so many of us are salty, lol Now I absolutely understand wanting to have less complaining and more discussion. However...particularly between runs, the saltiness is gonna leak out. I mean how can it not? This has been an absolutely brutal stretch! Ain't gonna be perfectly positive in here, lol
  7. I'd rather it be a fish storm and miss that way...then to nail VA/NC and scrape us with flurries, lol (although that would still be more than we've seen!) That's my main reasoj for skepticism: That this hits a wall and can't come far enough.
  8. I think this is the best option, imo I mean yeah not having the bye before the SB is gonna suck for the two remaining teams, but...it may be the most fair option...either that or a...tie?
  9. Man I hope this ain't somethin' squashed south and they see snow while we smoke cirrus...then go back to warm, smh That would just be cruel and unusual punishment, lol But ya know on the plus side...we do tend to do snow then big warmth well...so maybe this one can work out
  10. A solution like CMC showed would be a total troll event of the year...All warm, then finally cold but...SQUASH (oh and snow for the south too!)
  11. Nah...I feel like 168 (7 days) oughta be the jaws Benchmark...Buuuut benchmarks can be stretched...
  12. And it left the other 20 out in the modelsphere somewhere
  13. Feels like the GFS is smokin' somethin' with the evolution of that 11th wave, lol
  14. Hey look! The record for this date at BWI was 68 in 2000...And we hit 69 today, lol But of course later that month...a footer
  15. Ya know who first told me about that misnomer? My first Music Theory teacher, lol (now I know what movie he was referring to!) Hey don't forget your ragtime/stride music with that silent movie (actually currently working on a ragtime piece, lol)
  16. I know, I know...I'm bit movie illiterate, haha To give you an idea of how bad it is...I only just watched "It's A Wonderful Life" for the first time last week...lol I'm workin' on it!
  17. Oh that ever elusive 50/50! When's the last time we had one that worked? 2016? Lol
  18. Well as soon as he starts it things turn more blue at 12z...the admirable optimism of @WinterWxLuvr off to a good start
  19. Ah darn it. Came in here for the "When in winter you hear thunder..." folklore
  20. My goodness...Praying for Demar Hamlin and his family.
  21. So let me get this straight (actually been meaning to ask about this)...Warmer SSTs...make it harder to get 50/50s, and thus less "tucked" solutions? Or am I missing something?
  22. The last two years I've vascillated back and forth over what the future of our snow is gonna be. I haven't known whether to just give up on it entirely and just hold on- tightly to the memories we have from 2003, 2010, 2013-14, and even 2016...or think perhaps it could turn around. I can take a bad winter...but I think most of us don't wanna think about the future of our snow. The thought of the thing that brought joy during the winter months may not be there as much. And the prospect of a future where you gotta pack up and travel hours away to get snow above your ankles (or even your shoes for that matter) is...depressing. And couple that with our current snow drought...that is literally the worst thing. Btw Yeah this is a whine post. But it ain't nothin' else going on right now so I oughta be allowed just one this week
  23. I always appreciate your posts overall. And I don't think anybody wants ya to blow smoke (unless it's cold powder that makes everybody's streets cave). I just think the repeated reminders of longer term doom (beyond this season) are unpleasant to keep hearing about everyday. You're calling balls and strikes and I get that...so maybe it's just me, lol But I dread your posts these days because it's always bad news about not just this season (which is struggling right now) but future seasons...and the reminders of such. So that's like one depressing thing (current) and future depressing things (even less snow that we used to get). But again, that might just be a me problem. Still appreciate your knowledge and experience though--not saying anything against that at all!
