    Oh I’m thrilled for them but of course it happens 18 months after I leave the south. Seeing up to 5 inches in Florida will be wild. .

    Sure hope we get some Nina rains this spring. A nice stretch temperature-wise after the next couple of days although the bright sun and no snowcover really helped modify the cold.

    Lol…not hardly, just enjoy throwing it back on occasion. I will say I enjoy the back and forth especially from the many folks on here much smarter than I am. Good opportunity to learn.

    Chicago nickel and dime events are typically what Atlanta gets in their synoptic events. It shuts the city down and melts in 48 hours. It’s very tenuous with lots of bust potential. .

    Unfortunately these southern snows rarely come through as modeled. We tend to see a northwest trend 24 to 48 hours out. Sleet is also going to cut into these totals big time. Warm advection wins. I’ve lived through a few of them (for the “we can tell you’re new here” crew [emoji849])

    If there’s energy spinning through here it seems to over perform. Dusters become an inch or two. We will have to take what we can get. .

    Man…so no shot at a late winter snow?? Could have sworn I saw it happen many years from afar and here I thought this was my chance to experience it after an underwhelming season thus far. Well…hope we torch then. .

    I’m telling you. I literally spoke glowingly about a 50 degree day on a GFS run and was chastised. It feels great and no matter how this winter concludes we will all end up happy as shit on that first sunny 75° day. .

    Hard to see us not cashing in late Feb or early March. .

    Yeah I hope we can catch a clipper or a changeover event over these next two weeks but I’ll just be happy otherwise with moderating temps. .

    Mixed bag on the GFS. Good to see Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin get a good snow. Also into northwestern Illinois. They’ve been nickel and dimed or had almost nothing at all. Historic period as we will potentially see 5+ inches along the eastern seaboard from South Georgia to Canada. Very cool. I’d expect Ohio valley to get in on the action again though this run missed them. Here in Chicago maybe some mood flakes for now. .

    Snow means on ensembles aren’t too shabby for Western Michigan! .

    Tons of melting today. Upper 30’s did feel phenomenal though. .

    Yeah it’s definitely sucked. We’ve been fortunate to have some “mood inches” in Southwest Chicago burbs but feel for north and northwest of the city as well as parts of Ohio. Probably other spots I’m missing. I’m not sure when things get better for us. .

    I think this suppressed look will pop a Miller A. Boston and NYC have been pretty snow starved. Even if the can gets kicked a while, I still think Iowa and Minnesota will finally get a big dog.

    Amen. Just 5+ inches at I-10 and I-75 in NW Florida. Should make the Des Moines folks giddy. I’d guess we pop a SER later than sooner and hope a cold rain trends colder. .
