  1. Picked up an inch in the past 45 minutes. Still moderate snow. 1.6” on the snow board.
  2. It’s pouring snow here now. Big flakes. The kind of snow that piles up quickly. About 0.50 mi. visibility. Still 29°.
  3. Flakes getting bigger now as the intensity picks up. All surfaces including paved roads are covered. Up to 29°.
  4. My location does exceptionally well during nights with effective radiational cooling. Sheltered river valley spot surrounded by farms and orchards. Usually holds onto the cold at the surface as well in these types of events. Until winds begin to mix everything.
  5. First flakes falling here. Just needles, but definitely all snow. 27°.
  6. I second the suggestion of the walking mall in downtown Winchester. It’s beautiful in the sleet.
  7. After holding steady at 22° most of the night, temps have just begun to tick up. Currently 23/19. Light breeze stirring from the NE at 5 mph.
  8. I’m in Falling Waters. 1/2 mile from the Potomac River in northern Berkeley County. 10 miles SW of HGR. 10 miles NW of MRB.
  9. Just realized that LWX did an intermediate update at 7:00 and increased snow accumulations here from the 2-5” they put out this afternoon to 4-8” now. Also added language to the WSW saying snowfall rates could reach 1-2” an hour tomorrow afternoon. Further, they say precip should remain almost all snow.
  10. 25/16 under clear skies. Lost 10° in the last two hours.
  11. Point & Click forecast for my yard raised accumulations to 3-7” for the daytime tomorrow with another 1” in the evening. WSW update though says 2-5” with up to 1/4” of ice.
  12. Could you please post the link one more time ? Thought I had it saved.
  13. That’s a lot of precip falling in a relatively short time. Hoping the Euro steps up its totals soon.
  14. A little over 24 hours from onset, and the latest progs indicate my yard could have anywhere from 1 to 6 inches on the ground tomorrow afternoon.
  15. Winds died off and the temp fell to a frosty 16° here under clear skies.
  16. Afternoon update from LWX bumped up HGR and MRB to 5-8”
  17. I did some hiking this afternoon on Skyline Drive near Luray. Surprised to see that shaded areas on north-facing hills had some snow cover. I think that area should do well on Saturday.
  18. Are today’s CIPS analogs still showing Jan 1996, Feb 2010, Feb 1983 and Jan 2016 for Saturday ?
  19. It’s rare that my yard gets a 6” snowfall and DC gets shutout in the same storm. Other than a couple of events in late March, and mid-November 2018, may have to go back to December 2012 to find such an event in the winter. Gotta believe if it snows that much here, the Metros get into some of it also.
  20. It’s now modeled to be moving a lot faster, also reducing QPF potential. Barely an 8-10 hour storm now vs what was showing the past couple of days.
  21. lol that has the 4 largest snowstorms I’ve ever experienced and a few other one-footers
