It will end up in Ontario or Georgia.
Probably closer to Georgia.
But at least 2018 is going out with rain. It’s fitting.

I miss winter. It’s been basically April this month.
And it looks more and more like January won’t deliver any winter or cold the first 10 or so days at least either.
-
More rain.
MDT will end the 2nd wettest year ever but really it’s the wettest. 2011’s rain came in a two week period between Irene and Lee (like 29” or something). The number of rainy days in 2018 has to be like double that of 2011.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Well, was worried about warm surface temps maybe affecting any accumulation of snow falling and it turns out it's too warm to even snow. Pretty much all rain here (light) with the moon more than partially visible through the clouds.
Hope we score the first week of January cause if not we are in for a long snow drought

Storms have been impresssively splitting HBG. Not a drop of rain since early this am.

68 in downtown HBG right now. Full on sun for the past hour or two.

Any timing on when the front will come through? It's gross out.

Although I saw 2.5 feet of snow from January 2016, the GOAT is still Superstorm 93.

Getting shut out of snow in December does sting (and it's looking somewhat likely - Christmas Eve has a potential storm but I don't see cold air enough to bring snow). But our snow months seem to be late, late January, mid February and March these days and December seems to always be a weird month.
It's been chilly at least.

Was 16 at the house when I woke up at 7:15 a.m. A very cold morning out and about.
And it looks like a crapload of rain is inbound Friday evening, 1"+ possible.

Some bitterness over the missed opportunity for snow around the different subforums the last 24 hours. As a self-proclaimed weenie I get it...though I believe a lot of us have developed a sense of entitlement. Growing up in this area during the 70s meant going through a lot of heartache. Other than the February 1983 storm we had a lot of lean years in the 70s and 80s watching our snows either flip over to rain OR watching a fair number of "southern sliders" as they are called today.
I don't have data on how often it happened but memory recalls enough misses south that would send a lot a weenies running for therapy today.
We might have a repeat this weekend - we stay too warm and the SE cool enough for another round.

Good morning and Happy Friday! We've got some great news: we're expecting at least 5 straight days of sunshine starting tomorrow. The next chance for rain/snow isn't until next Friday! #PAwx pic.twitter.com/Rfmv4zEQYtEric Horst tweeted this morning that we likely will have 11 consecutive dry days - last time we had that was January 2018.

I was on it a few weeks ago and went through Nacogdoches. It's a good road. Lots of 70mph zones outside the towns.
Just watch Mt. Enterprise there north of Nac - its literal existence is for a speed trap.

Actually, I may just head west on 80 from Lewisburg to Columbus, drop down to Cincy and Louisville and pick up 40 in Nashville. From there I can go to Little Rock, pick up 30 and go to Texarkana where I can jump off and take the overland route to Houston. It's 35 miles and 45 minutes longer to go around the storm than to try and drive into it or deal with the aftermath.
Yea that's likely wise. Enjoy 59S - I've spent literally 1,000s of hours on that road. I went to college in Nacogdoches, wave to it as you take the loop around.
