An elevated board is not ideal in windy conditions but is effective when there is no wind, The ground board works well in most all conditions except extremely windy conditions which we see here being close to the coast that you have to take 6 measurements at times to avg it out.

6.4°F was the low here, Aug -5.2 and GYX -5.8 on monthly departures after a -22 and -24 day yesterday.........lol

Just looked and they're a lot of low single digits up over your way there, Still have wind here so the temps are still in the low to mid teens here but i think will fall off as winds go calm into the single digits overnight.

A lot of my friends are firefighters here, I know they do a lot of training on a regular basis, They visit buildings on a regular basis to get some familiarity on what they may face, Sometimes risks are taken especially when its a life threatening situation on saving lives in a building they are unfamiliar with, But that's where you have to rely on your training to keep the right frame of mind on judgement.
