    When i was back at the marina in the early 2000's for 7yrs, We used a similar term except we called them the dock donkey, I think all the docks had at least one.

    46.9°F was the low here this morning, IZG looks like they were 41°F.

    It was said many times by a few here, The first 2 weeks look to be below normal, Nobody cancelled summer, But the days and days of high 80's low 90's and dews in the 70's are not happening.

    Off of RTE 27, 30-45 mins NW you have the Sugarloaf Bigelow range of mountains to hike.

    If you like fishing, There's plenty of lakes/ponds up that way, Lot of hiking to be had as well as has been mentioned, But if you need a seafood fix, You're better off heading anywhere along the Maine coast.

    Your not walking across your patio in FL in July to go in your pool, That i can tell you first hand as i have fiends down there that say its so hot you can't walk on it, They stay inside because of the heat in AC.
