  1. This is going to be such an interesting event to watch play out. Currently my weather station is reporting 35.7 degrees dewpoint of 29 and radar returns about 20 miles away as the crow flies. I think this one has high potential to bust high and be full of surprises. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  2. That appears to be heading my way at least scraping by me, I'm looking forward to that one been watching it since Nashville. What sucks for me is it will disappear from OHX radar soon and there is a hole when it comes to snow like that over Roane northen Rhea and northern Meigs that is hard to see. I need to switch between OHX, MRX, and Hytop to follow snow through my neck of the woods. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  3. Talk about healthy snow showers... Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  4. The rates in this guy are awesome it's been training now for about 30 minutes. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  5. Snowing as hard right now from a snow shower as it did today from the storm itself. Hope it does this all night! Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  6. Nice streamers heading east, on the door step of East Tennessee. Wouldn't mind an additional half inch or so hoping these are persistent and get better as the night goes on and the airmass and terrain of the region squeezes out every last drop of moisture. Even with snow having ended here a couple hours ago my RH is still 93%. Lots of left over moisture in the low levels. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  7. Curious as well looks like radars are picking up low level moisture all the way back into southern illinois. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  8. Same here though it is snowing still here just really light and fine flakes. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  9. Yeah it's let up to super fine flakes here now too. It may be the end for us of the synoptic snows. But all the hi-res models show nice snow showers covering the area tonight and most of the day tomorrow. Not standard NW flow either so folks who normally don't get much from flow snow may see some intense snow showers at times if the models are correct. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  10. Anyone live out in the area of this band? Is it hitting the ground? I assume it'll be the final shut off for me of synoptic snows and transition to snow showers and bands. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  11. Festive photo bushes for Christmas Eve. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  12. Same here if it keeps up we'll both break MRX forecast. I'm only 25 minutes north of you on Watts Bar. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  13. Sticking nicely here looking up the ridge behind my house. I'm noticing there are heavier bands that really pick up rates that seem to move through every 15 minutes or so like pulses. Occasionally get a good wind gust and it looks like a northern snowstorm with wind blown snow. Now down to 30. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  14. Looking at current radar the western edge seems further west than had been modeled by most models to my untrained eye. I was worried I would miss the synoptic snow all together but it's just pouring snow here. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  15. Really impressed by rates at times visibility is very low. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  16. Ground is starting the whiten in the woods where there are leaves. At 32 now. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  17. Moderate snow here down to 33... Temp falling faster with snow than it did before it switched to all snow. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  18. Transitioning to Nickles here now from mix down to 34. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  19. I seem to be transitioning to less liquid more sloppy slushy snow flakes and graupel. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  20. Radarscope doing a good job at precip type handling. Can confirm the mix to the SW of Knoxville is correct. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  21. Not in Chattanooga but I am SW of Knoxville on the Roane/Meigs line just reported over on the OBS thread I'm getting some mixing here at 36 degrees. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  22. 36 and just started to get what appears to be rain mixed with melted snow/graupel. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  23. Yes wind picked up gusted at my house to 20 though my anemometer is only at 15'. I'm averaging north winds gusting to 10 and 15 occasionally on this side of the lake. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  24. Area around birmingham has been steadily building and moving NE. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  25. Just crossed down to the 30s sitting at 39 on track for 10 degree drop in an hour if I can fall 2 more degrees in 15 minutes, which seems feasible. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
