Stein says no. FYI there's no benefit in putting your tomatoes in a week or two early. Tomatoes planted on May 10th aren't going to provide tomatoes any earlier than those planted on May 20th unless under cover. The collar, or ring is closer to the Head than a nightcrawler. I wouldn't say they jump but they definitely move faster than a nightcrawler. Dig up a piece of your garden they're probably there.

Nasty ass things. Noticed them for the first time last year. Nothing's going to stop 'em. They'll finish what the Gypsy moths started. Might take a little longer.
