  1. If the clouds break today it's going to ruin not hitting over 63 for April.
  2. Wouldn't bother me a bit. Firewood is still selling briskly ️ ☺️
  3. The guy is a freakin' jinx. Warmest March ever...all next week 70-75...looks hot in the extended.
  4. Still snowing pretty good here. It actually might be accumulating.
  5. And to think some on here were calling the last snow months ago. Lolz...
  6. Of course you would know . Found this: Not for all of Southern New England. Here's all the times that Lowell has had 1.0" or more after April 16: 4/21/1940 4.0" 5/9/1977 2.6" 4/29/1987 6.0" 4/27/1993 1.0" 4/26/2000 1.0" 5/18/2002 1.0"
  7. They are set for years to come. Massachusetts didn't even get it that bad. Rhode Island and Connecticut are worse.
  8. Unfortunately it was the larger trees that took the brunt of the Gypsy moth infestation. I have a bunch 10 to 15 ft in circumference standing dead. Not worth my time to saw them up.
  9. Yeah maybe we can pull a 60 out on Sunday they've been few and far between this month. Extended March. accumulating snow to much of interior, heaviest over the higher elevations. Improving conditions Saturday night with a mild and breezy Sunday on tap. Weather pattern then becomes more active again after Sunday night, with several storm systems to watch thru Tuesday. Temperatures to trend cooler than normal into midweek
  10. Thanks for the offer but I have plenty. If you're going to be felling stuff yourself do it soon. What's standing is starting to get sketchy.
  11. If they look sickly they are dead. Folks are going to be surprised at how many more gypsy moth dead trees they have when Leaf out comes.
  12. They grow fast initially then slow way down. That's how the grain gets so tight. First picture is from today the second is from 1890 or so . Same trees (three trees on the left in the old picture)
  13. Here's an illustration of how strong. Watch the first few second . The tree explodes, never seen it with another species. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=556wi8ujaGc
  14. Perfect weather for working outside. Anything but rain is fine with me .
  15. Totally agree on the black Birch. When it's green it weighs a ton! Lot of wasted work to cut, haul, and split for a low quality wood. Yes Locust has a shallow root system. That's the only way they ever come down.
