  1. 77 over 62 not too tough to take. A keeper...
  2. The situation changes a bit after sunrise. Our region will be contending with a combination mid level shortwave and longwave trough. The main impact of this will be to steepen mid level lapse rates. Should we get some breaks of sunshine, there is more potential for generating enough low level instability to match up with an occluding front to generate stronger thunderstorms. At this time, thinking CAPE values max out between 750-1000 J/kg. With effective shear about 30-40 kt, there is a low risk for strong to severe thunderstorms this afternoon, mainly across the eastern half of southern New England.
  3. .41 overnight. When will it end?
  4. Looks to be about an inch. https://www.wunderground.com/dashboard/pws/KMASOUTH189?cm_ven=localwx_pwsdash
  5. Not thinking today will a complete washout. We will have to contend with a series or mid level shortwaves, so thinking along the lines of periods of showers, with at least a small break in between rounds. Greatest chances for measurable rainfall will be across the western half of southern New England. Locally heavy rainfall is possible, but not very likely. He think wrong.
  6. 8.19 since May 1st with another half inch so far today. Make it stop...
  7. Unquestionable coc tonight. Couldn't draw it up any better.
  8. That won't solve anything. Or at least that's what my mother tells me.
  9. It's nice but I'm afraid I'm going to have to deny it a COC classification. 77/60 is just a hair over.
  10. Feels weird closing windows to keep it warm.

  19. 73/68 about as nasty as it gets for 5:00 a.m. .
  20. [Official High Temperatures Today] High temperatures earlier today reached 96 in Boston, 95 in Hartford, 91 in Providence and 89 in Worcester. We missed the record high in Boston by one degree, which was 97 set back in 1999.
  21. 68/62 Today is looking nasty. Expecting the warmest day in this stretch of the heat wave for many locations across southern New England. Aloft have WSW flow bringing in 23-25 degree Celsius air at 925 hPa! Expecting the mid to high cloud cover to not move in until late in the day, so have once again gone with the 90th percentile of guidance for high temperatures today.
  22. 80/62 Beautiful evening! In all seriousness this is been a unremarkable heatwave.
  23. Awt. Brief mild up and then back to the chamber we go.
