Cmc with a nice evolution around day 9. It's pretty obvious the first week of December isnt going to produce but as the pattern relaxes a bit maybe the second week of December can. Ops and ensembles have all hinted at that over the last few days. Hopefully as we get into next week something will show up more concretely.

Both definitely have more moisture streaming from the south after day 10. Geps actually looks like a couple Coastals just looking at the precip orientation. Next week will be tough to get anything of significance while the coldest of anomalies are right on top of us. Probably will take to the second week of December till we have an opportunity with anything approaching from the Southwest.

The good thing is both the Gefs and Geps still have a ridge out west. Towards the end of the runs the ridge moves west a bit which might alow for the gulf to open up some. Both have below normal 850s and 2m temps at the end of the runs.

Unfortunately this one ain't for us. As you stated it's been slipping away for several runs now. Hopefully we can get another shortwave pass by to our south the first week of December when the cold air should be more stout.

Almost half of them get snow into the region or south of the region. I'll gladly take that a week out

Would be nice to be able to capitalize on this nice early winter pattern. It hasn't lately but I believe it can still snow in Decemer lol.

Been snowing moderately now for hours along the MD/PA border. 2 or 3 degrees colder and this could of been an easy 3 to 6" snowfall I may be able to crack an inch if this keeps up for another hour or so.

Picked up about a 1/2 inch over the past hour. Sun at a lower angle as the day ends is certainly helping.

Nice Was in Waynesboro earlier and just white rain there. Drive up to the top of rt 77. Several inches of snow and roads covered. 30 degrees up there Back in Smithsburg it's been white rain all day but in the last 30 minutes it's starting to stick to the deck and grass Temp dropped to 32

My temp just ticked down to 32. Finally starting to stick on the deck and grass.

White rain at 33 degrees in Smithsburg. Drove up into the Catoctins. Different world up there. 30 degrees with several inches of snow on the ground.

Moderate snow for the last 15 minutes or so. Dusting on the deck and mulch. Too warm/ need heavier rates for Grass and pavement 34 degrees.

33 degrees with light snow A little stickage on the deck so far but that's it.

A week out with that track it's possible it could trend a little better with temps. The surface temps on the 3 major globals from that time period are a bit different. Cmc is upper 20s to lower 30s. Euro has temps in the 35 to 40 range with the gfs a smidge warmer. Great track on the euro but Definitely early in the season as you said.
