It is funny as hell that as soon as the thread was started the eps went to shit. Can't make this stuff up.
Shocking

I can’t dig too deep, work. But the track is identical. The mean is weaker also. It’s just warmer. Less confluence and high slides east. That is the most important thing unfortunately.
Thanks. Hopefully it's just a blip.
The control was a big jump for just 1 run.

EPS is awful. Warmest run in 3 days
Is the storm track further west?
The placement of the snow on the mean doesn't look much different than 00z. Just overall less snow.

Yeah it's roasting at 850. But it is an outlier with the setup going in. Just gotta hope it's wrong
Is it still a precursor to the euro lol?
It seems like it's wrong alot in regards to winter storms for us. Ussually the opposite though as in years past its given false hope when other models went to shit.

Canadian did shift east tonight with the storm track.
The snow didn't seem to adjust east with it though lol

Also more spacing. I think this event gained almost a full day from when we started tracking. Models have it starting around 1-3 pm saturday
Definitely this started out as a late Saturday night - Daytime Sunday event. Most models have it out by Sunrise Sunday.

My girls skied for the first time last week. Little one (6) really liked it and the older one (10) liked it OK enough . We had a blast overall though.
Last week of January should be fantastic up there. I’m jealous!
My son is 9 and my Daughter is 13. We went to Liberty twice last year. The first time they took a lesson. Spent an entire Saturday there. They loved it.
Then went back for a night ski right before they shut down for the season.
My son scares the crap out of me. Just flies down. No fear. My daughter takes a more measured approach.

Icon is about as tucked as we can afford. Nothing further NW or it's going to be weenie suicide.
Lol. Glass half empty?

That's impressive for the Icon. Icon always stingy with snow.

I’m undecided on whether to head to Timberline next weekend.
I think this will be a great storm there, but if we get a big one in the cities then I want to be home for that and might opt for Whitetail or Liberty in the evenings.
I'm hoping Liberty and Whitetail can get open soon

Just got back on Saturday from a few days at Wisp. I’d say about half the runs were open with the base eroding quickly after that big rainer last week. Good to see they’re snowing lightly now and should continue to do so over the next day or so…and I imagine they’ll be in pretty good shape come the end of next week.
Thanks! Was just looking at their website. Looks like 10/33 trails open today.
Webcam shows it snowing currently.
We're heading there the last weekend of the month.
My kiddos just started skiing last year and loved it.
Was hoping to take them somewhere locally before our weekend at wisp. Hopefully in the next week the local places can get open.

Splitting hairs here but it’s not a week out. Euro gets precip in Saturday evening. Yes, keep expectations in check and go with the ensembles at this range.
Were almost down to 5 days nows.
Would be nice to get s region wide event. It's been a while lol.
And the ski resorts need it so badly. Just looked around and no local resorts are open. You'd have to drive 2 - 3 hours west to find one.
Looks like whitetail and Round top opened briefly before shutting down operations.
How's wisp? I know there open but is it pretty limited at this point?

I see whitetail is closed again.
They opened briefly but there website says temporarily closed.
Local ski resorts are hurting badly.

Icon is a DC and southeast snow.
Definitely the most souther of the globals. Looks cold. Snow down into Central Va

Shows6+ hours of snow in DC. How is that a trend of no snow?
Are you saying the trend on the last 3 or 4 cycles of the GFS isn't bleeding the wrong way? If your want more snow, less rain.
