Which means it may not be wise for anybody to get to invested in the one on the 20th...really don't think it'll be worth the energy looking at what the more experienced minds on here and twitter are saying.
Next Sunday could be quite the winter storm. A mix is favored at the moment but could be several inches of snow followed by a serious ice storm. Too early for details but could be a huge storm for the entire eastern conus.

Next weekend definitely looks like a more traditional spread in snow totals with more northwest and less south and east. Euro destroys western MD next weekend. I wonder where @nj2va will be next weekend?? Lol

Congrats to the dc crew. Happy for you guys.
Totals along the M/D line has been somewhat underwhelming. Close to what had been advertised for most of the week , but yesterday's bump north on the models raised my bar a little.

If you loop through h5 on the fv3, it's a thing of beauty. Vort after vort digging through the south, turning northeast and passing just south of us.
Could be a heck of a 2 weeks!

4.25" as of 7am. .32" qpf. Hoping for at least snow tv out here the rest of the day.
Unfortunately I think our accumulating snow is done out this way. Would love to squeeze out another inch or so in the daylight.

LWX keeping expected snowfall the same but upping the max and min. Good trend up to game time. I am a little on the outside looking in but increasing my bar to 4".
I'm a little north of you and my bar is set at 3. Up here we just haven't gotten the bump up that the dc folks have gotten.

HRDPS has backed down a little as well. Still. all of the models show a 2-4/3-6 event. Which is what most of us expected all along. Will someone hit 8? Yep.
All models have waffled back and forth but the consensus has pretty much been some where between 2 and 6 inches for last 4 or 5 days. If we end up in that range that's impressive in imho.

It keeps tightening up the northern edge such that even though it looks much better the last couple runs for D.C. it hasn't improved at all along the PA line.
I'm just glad we haven't lost any ground today along the pa line. I'm 5 miles from the state line in Smithsburg. (Washington county) I'm hoping we see the usual 25 mile bump north the last 12 to 24 hours to help @mappy @losetoa6 @psuhoffman and all of the other fellow northerers out. I think you will have your normal death band set up overs parrs ridge as usual lol.
Thanks for all your insight. It's appreciated.

18z has been kind. An hour until the Euro hopefully continues that.
If we can keep trends going with beefing up the WAA snow maybe we can get the entire sub forum into the .5 area.

overrunning with stupidity...the GFS output makes no sense. I started a threat for the Jan 19-24 EPIC pattern kickoff...not sure it will survive lol
Close enough for 10 days out lol. Somewhere in the east looks primed for a huge snowstorm during your epic pattern kickoff. I just hope it's us
