So much lightning… just had another round of close strikes two hours later.

Summer evening vibe with constant flashes and Thunder for a couple hours around here.

Best storm in prob couple seasons rolled through around 730. Some trees down nearby and decent size hail and white out rain with big winds.  Just insane amounts of TL like you said.

    you were young and wild

(edit of course the link that cited the current  water Temp could’ve been garbage ) second link I found says 61.7

Haha..yea nice being in your 20s for sure for many reasons.

I can promise you it wasn't 60F most years.  I wouldn't be in that without a suit even at 23.

I am seeing a bunch of reports of 68-70F near that area.

Well known longboard surf spot, remember being here many times without a suit. 69F now.

Do many folks swim in San Diego , water temp at Pacifica beach is 60. Most surfers have wet suits in Cali

Lived in Pacific Beach for almost a decade, that seems alot cooler than normal for August,I would swim and body surf all time with no suit, Aug and Sept I feel like were the warmest from my memory.

I do- with water sensor. But ya I dunno I might wait until mid next week when I stop in to hit it one more time then overseed and fertilize. Thunderstorms tonight scare me. Anyways here’s the result, shrunken and manipulated down to fit here- which was surprising tough.

If your whole lawn looks like that, I don't know if it needs an overseed. I would just hit it with fertilizer. That looks pretty dense, but pics can be deceiving sometimes.

Kinda my thought- can’t beat the pattern. Also will be away for the next two weeks and before you know it, I’ll be running up against climatological first frost- I like 6 weeks between seeding and frost. Oh well- going for it. Thanks for the input!

Do you have in ground irrigation to water while your away?

Today is another winner. Swim get out dry in a minute. Not too hot sun. Cocadoodledewlessness

I certainly approve of this break in the dewy pattern, but it's not exactly ideal for water activities.  My wife just sent me a video of my kids in the Adirondacks tubing with sweatshirts on...

i fertilized on saturday. after 2.4" of heavy rain, i am sure it is washing down the Merrimack river as we speak.

That's gone almost for sure. Even 1" can be too much. Believe it or not .25-.50" is ideal. Obviously factors like soil composition, rainfall rate, etc matter too.

Crazy.  Water can be terrifying, I can’t even imagine it inundating your house.
Furniture ruined, carpets ruined, cars, furnaces, septic systems all ruined. Sheet rock and plaster water logged and becoming a mold hazard.
I wouldn’t be buying a used car from anywhere in Vermont anytime soon…

Yep, might want to check the carfax of any VT registered cars..

You people like blasting swamp ass into the house?

Yea-heavily installed now.  Running constantly last few days--nice and comfortable.

I guess there is a perspective of tolerable vs comfortable for those uninstalled.  I could tolerate it maybe if I absolutely had to, but I don't have to and would much rather just be comfortable.

.20 but that puts us near 2.00” over the last 2 days.

Had 1.02" today. Had .65" the other day, so similar.  Some decent TL, but no wind. Lawn still struggling interestingly even with some recent rains.

  13. My yard was overrun with munks the first couple years here....literally everywhere.   Got an absolute  killing machine of an outdoor cat 2 years ago--don't see them really outside of the woods very much now, except for the sporadic carcasses in the yard..lol.  My cat nabs an occasional grey squirrel too, brought a full one inside just last week right into the kitchen

None of my crabgrass came back this year and I don't treat. Weird

Give it time, I don't have any yet either but it loves hot and humid.

Yea, for sure.  You never see crabgrass in May in NE, it may have sprouted, but it is tiny at this point and unnoticeable.  If you had crabgrass last year, 100% it will be back and prob worse year over year(if you don't treat it) A single plant has literally thousands of seeds that it drops.

If you don't care about the look of it, it is indestructible and survives any Stein pattern.

Those froze, High up has nothing to do with it, You get frost on the rooftops....lol

Yea--and unless the pic is deceiving, it looks like only 2ft off the ground..lol.

But yea TBlizz-might be cold damage...all of my young maple trees that are roughly 8-10ft tall look like shit still...leaves totally wilted and drooping straight down.
