  1. If I keep doing these gd exercises I do to stay healthy I won’t make it to retirement.
  2. But my family thanks you!! Just disconnect the sewer and put an outhouse in the back. Free garden fertilizer!!
  3. Thank you. I like that you say I'm young. Clearly @mappy is wrong calling me old all the time. I don't blue plate special yet. But gonna spend time at the diner every morning chatting to the war vets over coffee. Its a new adventure coming and i just want to enjoy the hell out of it.
  4. mods please lock thread. Its over.
  5. Wasn't the goal back when I started. It was live paycheck to paycheck and scrape enough together to get a car and house and keep a roof over my family. Could have made more money elsewhere but knew by staying this goal would be closer. My dad won $100 lottery once. He gave me 50 cents. I turned that into the multi-dollaraire empire you see before you now. Can't see it? Neither can I.
  6. Thank you! Absolutely nothing. I’m not looking for another job right away. I just want to see how it goes. I do plan to spend more time on the eastern shore. But with 2 kids still to finish HS I’m not going anywhere Thank you! I’m cool with all those things
  7. AOL and frozen orange juice futures.
  8. Thank you both. It will be a huge change but one that I know will be a positive one
  9. Dude. you have no idea how many times I have used the police partner just about to retire then gets swiss cheesed on the last call for a break in to my boss. I told him he best not send me out on one last job where I'm playing frogger or on top of this
  10. Thank you both. The finish line is oh so close. But the only maps I will make are snowstorm maps, I mean tropical maps with snow for PSU
  11. I'm retiring after 50 years of summer cicadas. 50 Broods would put me at Gandalf age and I haven't found a magic elixir that does that yet. Beer is close. Thank you!! Scary and exciting at the same time.
  12. Drinking beer is def busy work. But the to do list is long and will take a while. First thing I have to do is paint a kids bedroom. Goodbye little girl pink and hello teenage.....off white.
  13. I really am lucky and I don't take it for granted. But I've worked damn hard to get here. 28 years of working in the hottest of hot and coldest of cold, dodging traffic and dealing with ticks, dogs, black widows and working on top of an 80 ft dam. Its just time.
  14. Thank you!!!! I'm still in a lot of disbelief that its happening
  15. How can I be old when I am told I am too young to retire? Something does not compute.
  16. Exactly 30 days from today I get to do something very few people at my age get to do. Retire at age 50.
  17. What a great morning. Cool and just nice out.
  18. The county built a big dyke down near Huntington to prevent that one area from flooding so maybe it will pay off for these rain events. Wolf Trap has a valley effect in places so that won't get any better with all the paving and storm drains. Your hood is just low to begin with. If y'all were a few feet lower you'd almost be tidal. lol I'm just getting frustrated with my VP2 wx station. Its old. Like 15 years old. And the rain collector gets clogged too easily and not sure its measuring precip accurately anymore
  19. It was a given that their time above ground would be short lived compared to their 17 year dirt nap. Looks like the show is over and all we have left are the shells, husks, carcasses to remember them by. And the smell. Nature gave us a show for a few weeks. Now I just want to make it to the next time they decide to pop up and sacrifice themselves to windshields and hungry @mappy dogs
  20. wx station said only .6" fell but there is no way. It POURED for almost an hour. Del Ray, Alexandria had over 2" and I'm not that far from there.
  21. MD out for parts of the area? Watch gonna follow?
  22. Kind of a waste of a storm but impressive how it developed this close to the coast
