As far as I can tell it should make it. SPC convective statement Powell posted seems hopeful too.
IMO someone between me and Knoxville is going to ride the line just right and get 10-12”.
That's what I keep telling friends and family. Someone is getting a foot out of this! Not sure where exactly, but I think it's possible.

Got about 6 inches, just switched to heavy sleet. Temps went from 24 to 30.6 in the last 2 hrs...
Yikes. That's going to be a mess. The whole state will be a mess all week. Especially if we get little topped off on Thursday/Friday.

Really sucks that you aren't getting it. Maybe you'll still score if the cold can make it to that side of the valley before all is said and done. Still hours of upstream precip. If that Storm prediction center mesoscale update holds true maybe forcing might help in your area to bring down temps.
Yeah, there is still plenty of time. I am hopefully for those in the foothills.

Smaller flakes but still coming down heavily and oscillating between 28 and 29 degrees. Probably closing in on a half a foot but I've not measured in a bit.
Nice man. You guys in Halls should have a little more with your temps. It's still 30 here in Fountain City have 5 inches on the ground.
The temp went up about an hour ago. From 29. Holding steady at 30 and all snow. Hopefully that means no mixing for us.

Just measured 5 in the yard. Can't believe we are only halfway done.

Goodness, just running the eye ball test and I swear, we are going to be at 6 before too long. As an unofficial measurement tool, I placed random beers throughout the yard. I can only see the very top now. Going to have a beer hunt tonight. lol
Will go out and measure officially here shortly.

I think us north of Knoxville is transitioning to higher ratio snow. The radar looks about the same but the flake size is smaller but the intensity has picked up. Hopefully this continues SE towards @Reb .
.Temp actually jumped up to 30, but yes. Small flakes, but like a billion falling at once. lol

The moisture feed goes all the way back to Tx/La border. The bigger question is when does the whole feed start to shift SE. As long as @John1122 and our friend on the northern Plateau continues to see snow we are fine in the valley. Like John just said…. The radar doesn’t look great NW of Knoxville but the snow is there. It’s colder to the NW of Knoxville so the DGZ is lower and that area is in a radar dead zone. The radar is likely shooting over the top of the snow.
.Feel like being north of 40 is big for this storm.

I've joined the 4 inch club. Maynardville Hwy is passable but the brine is losing the battle. I'm actually fairly proud of north Knox as I did not see anyone doing donuts in the road or parking lots yet. Although, for some reason quite a few people stop obeying traffic lights and stop signs in this mess. Yeah buddy, your diesel truck is cool, but you still need to stop at the red light. Anyway, very happy to get a pasting in this area. Might be a 20 year storm before it's over.
Yeah getting a lot of 4 inch reports from friends here in the central valley. At the rate it's falling, seems 8 is obtainable total.

How long is this suppose to last in Knoxville Area?
Looks like solid returns until 7 or 8 with lighter backend stuff until around midnight.
Someone is going to score a foot, right? Especially if this thing can back build a bit as it moves out into the night.

We are having our most intense rates we have had the whole storm. in West Knoxville. She is a ripping.
Same here. Just hit the 4 inch mark. Adding up faster now. Still holding strong at 29.

Still ripping small to medium flakes. No mixing at 29 degrees.

Temp around 28 but the DP is 25. That’s should keep my temp from going up and keep me all snow right?
.I am a few miles to your south in Fountain City. We are currently at 29. I will keep you posted on my temps.
Should be enough of a barrier if Maryville is currently the rain line. Got to think the think coat of snow helps hold temps.

Raining south of 40 in Maryville. Less than an inch and currently melting
Goodness. That's awful. Didn't think the rain line would make it that far up.
Temp here is slowly climbing. At 29 now. See if snow cover helps temps stay down and prevent melting.

It's 28 here in Oak Ridge, TN and we have what looks to be 3 or 4 inches so far.

Nice! So it looks like most in the central valley have 3 plus at this point.
Any reports south of 40? Wonder where the heavy cutoff is.

Hit the 3 inch mark here in Fountain City.

Two and a half inches here. Accumulating much quicker this last hour. 28 degrees.

A little over an inch here. Maybe an inch and a half. Light snow at 26 degrees.
Ready for the onslaught!

I’m sitting in the dark with flood lights on watching it. It’s so peaceful & beautiful.
Yeah. I just stood outside and listened to it fall while staring at the street light. I live near the city, so it just makes everything so quiet. It's incredible. I love how snow just makes everything stop. lol

Closing in on an inch here. Rates really picked up. Now at 26.

Do any of you feel insane when it snows? Here I am, at 12:14 staring out the window, while everyone else is asleep.

I don't think we will have to worry about temps in the day with a solid snow pack. Feels nice to finally have the cold air and moisture.

About 15 minutes ago there was a half inch here in Knox. Roads now white! 27 degrees.

HRRR and short range models show the moisture to keep funneling up the same locations as snow until system totally departs. Someone is getting a foot if this is true.
