    From a lightning perspective that was pretty impressive. There was a period there where the flashes were happening less than 5 seconds apart for maybe about 5 minutes.

    No hail in Astoria. Winds came in the beginning then completely dropped off. A lot of thunder and lightning. Decent thunderstorm.

    I blame part of it on the loss of our bat population. Whether it be from the white nose syndrome or loss of habitat.

    Spent the weekend hiking in the Catskills. The wild flowers are incredible right now. Got to see this painted trillium near Windham High Peak.

    You're in luck, I hear it was successful enough that they're bringing it back at the end of this year.

    MSR Evos. Most winter hiking I've done I've been able to get away with spikes. I've been itching to do a multi day backpacking trip in deep snow which is why I picked them up. Hiking gear in general has been hard to come by during the Pandemic... now that hiking is everyone's "personality" on social media.

    I bought snowshoes on sale 2 weeks ago with the intent of using them next winter. Might get a chance to use them this weekend in the Catskills.
