  1. Expecting everything tomorrow. Snowfall wise anything more than 2 inches would be a very pleasant surprise provided it's not washed away at some point.
  2. I doubt it ends well for Boston either. The proximity to the coast has been killing them the last two years, plus being at 20 feet above sea level.
  3. I agree with everything you said, except the like part in the beginning.
  4. What streak are the metro people now trying to break? The bogus 1 inch streak was already broken. Are we now onto the two inch streak?
  5. After 17 hours of almost non stop snow the finally tally is 2.5 inches. That's about what I received in an hour on January 7th.
  6. Been snowing almost continuously since 10:30 last night until about 3:30 today. After 17 hours of almost non stop snow the finally tally is 2.5 inches. That's about what I received in an hour on January 7th. Beautiful out though.
  7. Amazing in these small storms how that extra half inch to an inch always appears over Newark then disappears in the 5 miles to Central Park and reappears again in the 5 miles to LaGuardia. It must have something to do with the high mountain ranges in between Newark and LaGuardia.
  8. Of course we all know that from the observations after 7:00 there had to be at least several tenths of an inch (0.3-0.5 maybe) added to the 1.4 inch storm total at the park but their history is not to add to the total and just ignore it like it never happened. It will probably be the case again unless someone that cares is measuring at the Park today. The only time they seemed to get somewhat accurate measurements was when they had the Conservatory doing the measurements at the Park several years ago, and that lasted 4-5 years. Not sure why that relationship ended.
  9. It was a bogus record to begin with. Two consecutive days last February with 0.9 inches and they kept going on about how it hasn't snowed an inch for two years. Definitely a bad stretch but what's the difference 0.9 or 1 inch. The way they measure either day could have easily been more than an inch.
  10. If most falls at night they may actually get a semi accurate measurement at 7 am Tuesday morning in the Park. it would be nice for NYC to finally put this somewhat inaccurate, 1 inch snow drought off the table.
  11. Isn't that a bit of an exaggeration. NYC had 8.3 inches on Jan 29th 2022, and Islip had 25 inches form the same storm. 3 Years ago on Feb 1-2 NYC had 17.4 inches. I know it's been a bad stretch the last year and a half but people forget.
  12. 8.6 inches as of 8:00 am and light snow starting to pick up in intensity. 29.8° let the snow blowing begin and congrats to all the 12+ in NWNJ and SENY a little north of me.
  13. Just friggin fantastic, the best, enjoy.
  14. Anyone in Western CT be prepared to be wowed. That band over SE NY just west of the Hudson produced 9 inches in two hours in several locations in NWNJ and Orange County NY. I'm 30 miles due west of Danbury and missed out on the meat of it, but still got 7.2 inches in four hours. Still coming down heavy, double digits well within reach. Places already over a foot that were in the direct path.
  15. I don't want to jinx it now, but it looks like you're finally going to put an end to your single storm double digit January snow drought.
  16. Would have loved to have seen that in the daytime. Didn't quite get into the best of that band but enough to be wowed by it. 7.2 inches otg as of 11:30 28.9 ° and still coming down heavy. Looks like I should stay in this at least another hour. Double digits definitely within reach.
  17. It took until 8:00 to start to cranking but since then it's ripping. 29.0° and heavy snow. 5.0 inches on the ground as of 10:30.
