  1. Down to 31 and nuking here at the radio tower. The road caved completely right here at the top. This would be an epic blizzard in AA County lol. The entire area would be shutting down. Holy shit. My truck is rocking and a snownado just crossed the road. I'm not joking. I'll try to post a picture. Probably 2" and snowing 2" per hour.
  2. I'm sitting in my truck at the Power line trail entrance. It's looking like a blizzard here at the high point. The snow is blowing off of the roof of the nearby building and the road is caving to the heavy blowing snow. I'm going for a hike. Temp 32
  3. I'm in the woods 9n top of the Catoctins. It's a snowstorm up here. Pictures later.
  4. Headed for the Catoctins. Radar looks worth it. I'll report live in an hour. 43 in Crofton as leaving.
  5. Sunny and breezy. Congrats to everyone that always see snow lol. If i wasn't headed to the Allegheny mountains tomorrow I'd go up to Gambrills State Park for a hike today. I still might lol
  6. I'm sticking around tomorrow to see snow TV in my area. Then I'm headed west very early Saturday to spend the weekend exploring the high ridges along the Allegheny Front looking for the jack zone. For now.. WOOPWOOP for tomorrow. LETS GO! SNOW TV, BABY!
  7. That storm had the most thunder I've ever seen in my 46 years alive. I remember sitting in the school cafeteria during lunch that day. I remember flashes of lightning coming from these little windows along the upper walls. I remember the thunder shaking the building and it ripping snow around noon that day. Truly an amazing storm. I was in Crownsville MD where we had about 15" in less then 6 hours.
  8. Does anyone remember the president's day storm (November 11th, 1987)? Whenever I hear people say it can't snow and stick in November. I think about that storm and how i was stuck at school until midnight when the local rednecks with their trucks saved us. I remember riding up front in some super loud mudding truck with like 5 kids yelling out direction how to get home. The good ole days when adults didn't care about kids lol. I remember lots of thunder and lightning during that storm. I was in 3rd grade and still remember the evolution and temp profile as the storm progressed.
  9. Best rain since July here. I haven't heard thunder in months. I think i hear the wind coming. Awesome
  10. I'm going to do a detail report from different elevations and slope directions. I'll document it with lots of pictures. I'm going to head out Friday, stay Saturday and drive back Sunday. I'm hoping to get some bluebird shots from the top of the Allegheny Front on Sunday.
  11. Mount Storm is only 3hrs 6mins from my house near Annopoils. The Shoe is over 5. My little shed on the mountain is 77 bucks a night. I think it has electricity, whatever. I'm not there for electricity. I might make it my little getaway cabin all winter.
  12. Mount Storm, where I'm headed for the chase is in the 12-18" zone. Oh boy!! I bet the ridge I'll be on gets 18"+. It's at about 3k feet. The Shoe is 4800 so I'm sure it will be powder at that elevation. I'm thinking about extending my stay and leaving Friday to head out there.
  13. I'm headed for Mount Storm, WV. This is my first chase in WV. I've got a 4wd Tacoma with some weight in the back. I've got a cabin for less then 100$ a night. I'm thinking about extending my stay and heading there Friday if I can get the place. This place is right on the western slopes of the Allegheny Front Range. Perfect location for upslope enhancement. Cloudy and 52
  14. Wow. That was weather porn. That run also crushes the spot I'm headed to in WV this weekend.
  15. My location I'm staying this weekend was just issued a winter storm watch. I nailed the location of this chase. Looks like winds will be a factor and blizzard conditions a real possibility, especially when I'm coming over the Allegheny Front with my Tacoma in 4wd.
  16. I've got 4wd truck with new tires. The cabin is right off a main road so it shouldn't be bad getting out. Getting there Saturday might be interesting. I hope i get snowed in lol. I'm going to be on Mount Storm near Snowy Ridge Road. The names sold me lol
  17. Super pumped! I just booked a cabin just west of Davis, WV. It's on Mount Storm. Right on the western slopes. It looks like I'll be in the jack zone all weekend. I'll be doing lots of hiking and chilling. If anyone what's to meet up and smoke a joint, let me know!
  18. Thanks^ Tropical Tidbits doesn't go out to 384 hours lol. Lock up that look.
  19. I just looked and it's only 4.5 hours drive. The Shoe is definitely in play. Lots of nice hiking trails up there too. Up to 52 degrees
