  1. Thanks^ Tropical Tidbits doesn't go out to 384 hours lol. Lock up that look.
  2. I just looked and it's only 4.5 hours drive. The Shoe is definitely in play. Lots of nice hiking trails up there too. Up to 52 degrees
  3. I thought about the Shoe but it's a 6 hour drive from where I live. I'd love to be up there but I'm not sure about the drive yet. We'll see. I'm hoping it trends colder. I'm planning on chasing a lake effect event if one happens. I've always wanted to explore a raging snow banner. I might save the long drive for that adventure. Thanks for the heads up. Maybe if I head up there I'll see ya. Just look for the guy wondering around in the snow smoking a joint.
  4. Mild morning. 51 here. The gfs gives Deep Creek 3 feet of snow next weekend. My plan is to head out there Friday afternoon and get a place to stay for the weekend.
  5. Anyone have any suggestions on places to stay out near Deep Creek? I want to get out there and do some winter hiking during snow events.
  6. Just a few sprinkles and showers here last evening. The ground is still rock hard. The gfs says basically no rain for the next 10 days.
  7. I baked my brain with a hearty indica from the garden. Perfect evening for chilling. Enjoy! Clouds are lowering and thickening and the temp is 52.
  8. Cloudy and chilly here. I have a feeling this precip isn't going to make it past DC today. The drought is definitely the dominant feature here.
  9. Looks and feels like snow. Shame it's just a rain fringe job here. I can't wait until we get a actual rain event here east of DC. I think it's been since July that I've received over a half inch of rain.
  10. 30 Goodnight snakes, ticks and my favorite, chiggers. See you in the spring. Now I can wonder around the woods without paying attention.
  11. Looks like the GFS switched back to the idea that some tropical moisture could join up with a front and give us real rain.
  12. The rain didn't make it through the mulch in my garden area. It didn't do anything.
  13. That didn't even wet the ground under trees lol. By noon it will be back to dusty dry..
  14. Interesting? That run was more interesting than the past 6 years lol
  15. As someone who loves weather, this is crazy boring. It has been beautiful and I've been loving the trail conditions where I normally hike. I do enjoy the change in seasons. I'd prefer cool, damp, normal conditions. I like being outside during all four seasons. Having only two seasons is definitely kinda weird and not easy to get use to.
  16. Looks like Sunday rain chances are going poof.
  17. It's hard to hold a candle in warm November rain. I hope i end up walking in the cold November rain. Because sometimes we need some time all alone.
  18. We sure could use cold November rain. 56 and cloudy. The beech and oak trees are peaking making for a great second peak (hardwoods change later).
  19. GFS tries to bring tropical moisture up here in about a week. Fingers crossed
  20. Shit lol. You caught me doing my morning "walk". This garden grown sure is smoky. Toasty out there today. Looks like we hit 82 here in the South River watershed.
  21. We don't have any in my area lol. It must of been coming off the trees. Weird
  22. Ok. Super weird shit going on where I'm hiking. I'm about a mile into Bacon Ridge, Crownsville. The woods are super quiet. As I walking along I felt a raindrop on my arm. I stopped and can hear raindrops hitting the dry leaves. The weird thing is that their isn't a cloud in the sky. WTF is falling on me? Where is water coming from? It's been going on for about 10 minutes. I can feel raindrops hitting me as I type. The flight patch to BWI is right over this area. Could an airplane drop water for some reason? This is the third time I've experienced this in the past year.
