Down to 26 here. Man, that UHI is no joke huh?
EDIT: it’s actually snowing up this way. Radar confirms snow shower activity in N MD and some pockets of light to moderate snow in PA near highway 22
28 here. Echoes overhead but nothing reaching the ground yet.

The heck man...I thought this was gonna be simpler dang it? Again??? Can't get a frickin' wave of moisture from the dang south to work right???
Does overrunning easy snow actually happen? I remember that like twice in my life and I'm 43 lol

Good luck to the eastern folks... I'll be watching on again from the great 2021-2022 snow desert of Fredrick county.
Only because I moved to Carroll County. Best winter in years where I came from (AA County). Been pretty annoying watching that area have a great season while we get shafted over and over again here. OC is doing better then Parrs Ridge lol

Going by the last two pages it isn't going snow except VA Beach where it always snows.

low 20s and snowstorm... only 9 days away lol
I'm sure VA Beach could use a refreshment on its snowpack by then.

Dude.. there's a easy overrunning event and blocking in 10 days.. blah blah blah.. just another boring winter. At least here in Carroll County the mud stays frozen longer then AA county.

I'm more in the Wwxluvr camp, it hasn't been that great of a winter out here to the NW... those who say we win a lot, suit yourselves but I want snow.
I just spent 6 years with super boring winters in AA county while NW got crushed. I move NW and AA county gets a great winter while I get another winter of frozen mud and storms missing east, West, North and south.

My money is on VA Beach getting crushed this weekend. They'll double my totals here on Parrs Ridge this season lol.

6z GFS bringing back the goods next weekend. Go check it out!
Indeed it did lol

I should of moved to VA Beach instead of Carroll County. They'll be ahead of this area in a few days in snow totals just like AA County already is. I'm sure tomorrow morning will miss south and hit AA County again. You really can't make this s**t up lol

I think this is a very solid forecast. Topography and proxy in lat will be a big part of the max potential for this kind of setup. I mentioned earlier I really like the M/D folks with someone like @psuhoffmanbeing in a phenomenal spot for this setup. 850-700mb frontogen is actually solid for wee hrs of Thursday through about 15z. There could be a nice surprise heavy snow for parts of the region. I do like 1-3 south of I-70 at max potential. 2-4 with a max of 5” for north of I-70 with best chances over the northern tier of MD.
I'm sitting at 900' on Parrs Ridge 7 miles north of 70. I've been waiting for my chance to use my new special power lol.

My only point is the NAM doesn’t get enough credit, esp. in these types of scenarios/set-ups. It tends to be more reliable and accurate than many have come to believe.
You must be new here. Every been NAM'ed? Around here we go with the snowiest model as gospel. During a good NAM'ing we bow to "king NAM" lol. Anyway.. GFS time. Sorry for banter.

I'd like to make an announcement to my fellow ultra nature connect snow freaks.. I'm officially back in the swamp of AA County. No snow on Parrs Ridge was worth the living hell of a relationship I fell into. Anyway..
1/8/22 season totals
Parrs Ridge 4.6
Gambrills MD 14.3
The signs from the snow gods are undeniable. I'll take my 33 and rain while the fall line points west get powder then live the way I was. Right now I'm looking at a beautiful snowpack right here in the sleety, swampy lowlands of AA County. I love bay county just as much as the highlands. MD is an awesome state.
Peach and love, friends
Daniel
Next observation will be from my home in the swampy lowlands of bay county. It's been a rocking January here in the swamps. Here's to a much deserved rocking winter to us lowlanders. Three more inches and I crack climo.
