I'm not talking any kind of shift in the track of the upper low. Just that there's always "THE BAND" in the cold side of storms like this on the northern edge of the precip shield and NW of the band usually gets mad AF with light rates and "pulsey" precip. Right now the climo favored zones are dangerously close to the subsidence zone. It happens sometimes. Like in the 2013-15 stretch but far more often than not...
I'm not talking about the corridor like our houses. We're in very good spot considering crappy temps and rates usually try to screw the pooch. I'm not expecting a jack but in this particular case... I like where my yard is.
I'm sitting here on Parrs Ridge packing my bags. Headed down to AA county to stay with my parents. I told my girlfriend I'm crazy when it comes to snow. Now she's learning the extent of it lol

Wintery morning up here on the Ridge. 35 degrees with light flurries and ice pellets.

Crazy how winters abruptly ended in the lowlands within the past decade. I was hoping moving up onto Parrs Ridge would help. So far just as snowless as Annopoils lol.

Been in the new house six nights now - and stepping outside just now - this is probably the first real clear night and holy hell - stars! Visible and not covered up with city light wash!
Same deal here on Parrs Ridge. I could hardly see the moon in AA County. Up here it looks like a planetarium.

The wind was roaring across the ridge and the rain was whipping around as that line passed over. I can still hear the gust coming through.

Something weird on radar just west of IAD
Snownado
Getting a little heavier. I can see it with squinting.

good to know!
Hold tight. It seems to be headed your way. Seems like once a little heavier return came over everything seems to be reaching the ground. I'm also like 900' up so that might be helping too. I got that fancy climo now lol

Seeing some decent flurries with a temp of 31.

Oh look. Radar is down. It only seems down when there's weather in the area. Cold and cloudy up here on the ridge. Nothing hitting the ground yet.

The house has been rocking for the past several hours up here on Parrs. I'd estimate gust to 50 mph about 90 minutes ago.

Why so testy in the LR thread? Many of us will see flakes this week even if it doesn’t amount to much.
I feel so high and mighty up here on the top of Parrs. Maybe the lowlanders won't see it amount to much lol

Also, got my booster yesterday and blah. Chills last night, whole body is sore and tired this morning.
Crazy. We're on the same vaccine schedule. We got our first two doses the same time. I'm getting my booster today. Not looking forward to it.

Probably heading to Rehoboth for a day or 2 later this week. Might work out.
I might have to go back to AA county lol

I'm already liking my new climo up here in Carroll County. This mid week system looks more interesting here then in tropical AA County lol

Wind is roaring up here on Parrs Ridge. I'd estimate gust to 40-45.

I think thats a fair assessment. Only thing Westminster has going for it over me is just being further west. It never fails that the snow/sleet/rain line during marginal events sets up over my place, so I ride the line and mix, while places west stay all snow.
Not that I care. Snow is snow.
I'm happy for you! Being on the costal plain sucks, I remember it growing up in AA county. Was so happy to move to a place with elevation and better climo for snow.
Thanks Mappy! I feel like im in a fancy climo compared to the tropical swamp of AA County lol

yeah, of course it needs to be cold for it to snow. but even the most marginal of events, you and highstakes always do well where you're at. I just assume his location will be the same.
I'm sitting at about 900' elevation on the ridge. It's in the Woodbine area. I'm thinking I'll do good with oragraphic lift during coastal storms as well. It's a really cool area. I really like being out of the tropics. From where I exist from 70 to where I live the temp usually drops a few degrees also because I gain probably like 600' the last few miles to the house. I'm thinking I'll do well but not PSU land well.

HAPPY FIRST DAY OF WINTER!!!
new season, new profile pic. maybe a snowy landscape will bring good luck.
hahahaha, who am I kidding. this winter will suck.
Every winter for the past 8 years has sucked. Seems like sucky winters are our new base state.

Light snow here in Southern Carroll County. First legit snow falling I've seen this season. Temp 35. Beautiful evening out there.

It IS gusty up this way this morning. What part of the ridge are you now live on?
I'm in Woodbine. I think it's called Parrs Ridge. We're basically sitting right on top. It's really awesome compared to tropical AA County lol. I can't wait for winter to set in.

Looks like where I am on the southern part of Parrs Ridge made it into the snow shield. Started at snow and is sticking to every surface. Hopefully we stay in the good qpf.
