Officially 1.3" in Edgewater as of 245 AM

    SN  25.7/24.4

Absolutely amazing out. Well ahead of schedule :)

This reminds me of when I was a kid. This is a classic snowstorm my friend. Enjoy!

  2. I haven't measured yet but I've got probably 2" just by looking out there. The grass is gone, plows are pushing snow. I can hear the rumbling in the distance. I just noticed the flake size is increasing. Looks like a beatdown is about to hit the lowlands.

  3. It's a classic snow fog look out there. It's a raging snowstorm already here in the AAC lowlands. The grass is pretty much gone, plows are down, and a north breeze is starting to move. I'd say I'm closing in on 2" already. LFG!

I knew I should have ordered a bong.

I'm hanging out. Come on over to jackpotville! I've got plenty!

It went from nothing to driveway white in 5 minutes. Let's get this party started! Good luck to everyone! LFG!

  5. I've got blue sky to my north and south with a stream of high clouds coming from due west. My theory is where this stream of high clouds is, is where the max QPF will be. How's that for a weenie theory? It's also only 33 here.

  6. Cold this morning. 20 here for the low. The snow on the ground probably helped cool it down. Looks like clouds will be arriving around noon. It should look pretty dark and cloudy by sunset. It should make for a wintery vibe on my afternoon hike. I'm thinking about going out to Sugarloaf mountain near Fredrick to watch the clouds stream in this afternoon.

  7. Absolutely gorgeous deep winter morning here in the AA County lowlands. The sun is sparkling on the remaining snowcover and the land is frozen solid. Even the tidal wetlands are freezing and waiting on the champagne powder. The calm before the storm has settled over the hardwood forest.

Nice thing about this for you guys is that the snow will stay. Good timing for this. Big win.

Definitely. I have a snow on the ground fetish that need to be tickled.

You got a lifetime treat today

Humbling experience. I went from 43 to below freezing in 5 minutes. Within 10 minutes of being 43 it was dumping and blowing powder and sticking everywhere. Than the lightning streaking across the sky every few minutes. Totally wild. I was on the Catoctins earlier today thinking I scored. Hell.. I saw the craziest shit right here at 160' elevation lol

My 1983 thundersnow did 1” in12 minutes. Fastest rate ever for me

The only thundersnow I remember like this was Nov 11th, 1983 during a freak snowstorm that struck when I was in 3rd grade. I remember getting stuck in school until midnight.

My few thunders were like muffled  weirdly

I wish I could post videos. I got two strikes and rolling weird thunder on video. The snow became powdery and was coming down super intense. The lightning, loud thunder, wind and my neighbors screaming kids made it a wild experience. Best squall of my 46 years alive.

NAM is pretty sweet for those of us north. Solid .7-.8” qpf, no mix/dry slot issues. Just pure cold snow. :bike:

Down here in AA County we like to ride the line. Big QPF and big snowflakes. If we don't ping, we bling.
