  1. I had flurries on and off all day yesterday. Hey, at least I saw SOME snow this winter.
  2. Look at it this way, the snowless years make you appreciate the snow even more!
  3. Unless we get some major changes, there is nothing inside two weeks.
  4. Maybe we'll have better luck in late January/February. The Pac Jet can't maintain this dominance all winter long, especially in a non el-nino winter.
  5. Where did all the cold air go? Looking like rain at least on the GFS.
  6. The coastal low ten days out on the 12z GFS run today is the best hope for SE snow I've seen in a few weeks. All the traditional ingredients are in place. Obviously, the problem is it's ten days out and likely to change.
  7. 12z another abysmal run. No hope with the Pac jet roaring along.
  8. A bit warmer last night as the low this morning was 19 degrees at Newport News.
  9. 23 degrees at 4pm here in Newport News. That is likely to be the high today.
  10. 10 degrees at Newport News Intl this morning. But the record low was 8.
  11. It was just a tropical storm hit, I'm sure it wasn't that bad.
  12. I got a feeling for Feb 5. gulf low with a cold shot coming in.
  13. Looking like Minneapolis is going to get a foot after all.
  14. http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/refresh/graphics_at5+shtml/211553.shtml?swath#contents Maria went Cat 5 over Dominica and Cat 5 landfall over Puerto Rico.
  15. Lots of dry air entering from the north.
  16. probably like hundreds of thousands of years...
  17. I'm sure they'll get hit again. They're right in the middle of tornado alley. Oklahoma City area is due for another big one.
  18. Was there actually 200+ MPH winds? I heard it was widespread 150 MPH winds, maybe 190 MPH tops. Early reports said EF-4. But because the tornado was so expansive, might as well make it a cat 5. Conspiracy!
