  1. Ah. I saw it while scrolling on my phone but didn’t try anything. Was gonna try to tinker with it when to got back on a computer .
  2. This was posted as a reply in their Twitter/X page in regard to the same graphic just posted here. Let me know if the link doesn’t work and I’ll see if I can repost it. https://x.com/nwsmorristown/status/2018020800637308937?s=46&t=mIdH2NuNUjY89QaOhx1Kgg .
  3. As others have said, hard to tell the amounts because of the wind here in Fountain City. Steady snow has been falling in pretty much a 45 degree angle to a straight line since I got up. Looking at the ruler I have staked too far in the yard for my eyes to see, looks like 4.5”, with drifts on the ruler. 14 degrees. Unbelievable. .
  4. Temp is at 26, been snowing steady for about three hours and have a decent amount from what I can tell……but surprised the roads are clear in our neighborhood. Kinda confused on that one. .
  5. In that screenshot, you are missing Holston, Beaver Brook, Municipal, Whittles, Cherokee and Dead Horse. [emoji466]️ .
  6. It reminds me of some kind of witches brew concoction that doesn’t make sense to anyone but the witch .
  7. I don’t know if you saw bouncycorn’s reply, but this is what he said and posted this graphic : NBMv4 has these models/weights: NBMv5 (parallel) is a bit different but the weights haven't been released. Pretty sure they removed SREF and added AI Models (like AIFS). They also do some different bias correction methods in v5 such as probability matched mean to achieve more accurate/unsmoothed outputs. .
  8. 2025-2026 Fall/Winter Mountain Thread https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink/topic?share_fid=13197&share_tid=62156&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww%2Eamericanwx%2Ecom%2Fbb%2Findex%2Ephp%3F%2Ftopic%2F62156-2025-2026-Fall-Winter-Mountain-Thread&share_type=t&link_source=app .
  9. What’s that statement……”Upper level low, weatherman’s woe”? .
  10. Heads up…..John created a thread for this weekends system. .
  11. Guess you haven’t heard of “Snowbird Bob”? .
  12. 32 here in Fountain City/Knoxville. Heavy rain washing away the mixed bag of donuts we received yesterday. Yard is just pure slop. The bigger story is the level of pouting from our two 90# dogs who don’t understand why they cant go outside and play. If they had thumbs, and could use a cell phone, I have no doubt we would have already been turned in to PETA/ASPCA .
  13. I have an aunt lives a few miles from “Shopryland” - says she has about 1.5” snow .
  14. I don’t want to sound like a jerk, but that’s on you. There’s over 2,000 posts on here about the potential of this storm. .
  15. Hurricane recon flying in the Gulf and off the Cali coast getting more data. .
  16. Speaking of sports, saw this on Twitter/X .
  17. That’s crazy!!! So I guess all the data from the hurricane hunters really didn’t help these models narrow down a consensus?? .
  18. You are correct. The other flights prior to yesterday were “repositioning” flights. .
  19. One more thing regarding the hurricane hunters data……here’s a study that found their information significantly increases forecast accuracy. So maybe the GFS is truly onto something???!!! https://www.albany.edu/news-center/news/2025-new-study-shows-hurricane-hunter-flights-significantly-increase-forecast .
  20. Speaking of the hurricane hunters data now contained in the models…….I don’t remember where I saw this, but it said that GFS would incorporate the data from the dropsondes, and that the data would be made available to the other global programs. , and it would be up to them if they wanted to include it in their model runs. Maybe…..just maybe Euro said “no thanks” and that’s why it’s sticking to the same solutions over and over??? Somebody please correct me if I’m wrong or have additional insight. .
  21. My wife just reminded me that I posted this on Facebook 10 years ago today. I guess history does repeat itself…… .
