  1. Just looped the 1 hour rainfall total and it has 4" over your yard. That is some heavy rain.
  2. Damn. Enjoy the next few rounds of mosquitoes!
  3. Thats crazy. Looks like a very narrow localized area of heavy rain training from your area over to around St Michaels.
  4. That main area has sagged south of here, but after the initial line went through there continues to be some additional development/training just to the north of that over my area. Up to 1.12" and still raining hard.
  5. Picked up 0.76" with the storm that rolled through. Some nice booming thunder too. Looks like another line developing behind this one, but might just stay north of here.
  6. Some pretty wicked T & L just off to my NW. Lets see what happens.
  7. Thanks. You too. If this works out you might want to try it as we are in the same general area with similar soil. As for Sept, I am good with average temps and rain, but wont complain at all if it ends up on the cool side.
  8. Same here. I can never keep a turf type tall fescue through the whole summer. ph here is fine, slightly acidic. I am in the woods surrounded by big hardwoods and the soil is very well drained so that is probably the biggest issue. I have tried several types. What I have now is a blend of 4 or 5 different fescues and is supposed to be ideal for this area- its called shore supreme. Just like the others, much of it burns up and goes to thatch in the mid summer sun unless it gets continuous water. I have already started reseeding the areas I know wont come back. I am going to mix in some thick blade fescue- not as attractive but it is more drought tolerant. I will over seed with that once I get the shore supreme(leftover from last year) established. At this point I just want something green covering the ground- I have plenty of clover and some moss too, and I am totally good with that.
  9. Absolutely pouring here now. First rain since the early morning hours of August 1. 0.72" in the last 20 mins.
  10. And I am pretty excited about the Ravens. So far so good with no rash of major injuries. Was about time for them to change their conditioning process. Assuming the key missing pieces are back healthy, plus the revamped receiver corp and Flacco looking very motivated and sharp, the offense should be much better. The D is loaded, and all they needed was for Pees and his passive, fold under pressure philosophy to go, and he, and it, are finally gone.
  11. NFL is the only sport I really pay attention to regularly. Its still number one. I think attendance will be more problematic going forward, and not because of the kneeling. Its just simply too convenient to stay home and watch potentially every game on your UHD television, and not pay outrageous ticket and food prices and fight traffic, crappy weather, etc. This is a different era and a new generation of fans who grew up with high-tech.
  12. NFL season officially kicks off tonight. From now through early Feb we will have NFL games to watch. Winter is coming..
  13. I think the game tonight hinges on the action that formed over the western ridges, and if that can actually hold together as it moves east. As moist and unstable as it has been this afternoon, you would think it has a chance. But then again the forcing was mostly terrain based, and we are losing the daytime heating, so if that line weakens it might take a vorticity max moving through to get any new development tonight. The track of any shortwave(s) will be on the western periphery of the W Atlantic high though, which probably again favors areas to the N and W of I-95. Right along and just west of I-95, maybe, but less likely than places further west.
  14. Yeah its super humid out there. Unlike last night, not expecting any t-storms here tonight. That big western Atlantic High will keep most or all the action west of I-95, and maybe well west. Even though CAPE is pretty darn high, and PWATS are in the neighborhood of 2", there is just no real trigger. Looks like any shortwaves will stay far enough west and track north into PA for the near term. That blocking high is a bully. You have a pretty decent shot at a t-storm in your area tonight though.
  15. A loud t-storm rolled through early this morning around 2 am. Had some booming thunder. Picked up another 0.65" to go along with the 0.45" last evening.
  16. A loud t-storm rolled through early this morning. Had some booming thunder. Picked up another 0.65".
  17. Picked up a quick 0.45". Looks like the total for the month of July will be 7.25".
  18. Well, the rain is unnatural!
  19. Some good thunder here now. Heavy rain is on the doorstep. Lets see if it can completely disintegrate lol.
  20. So my forecast went from chances of thunderstorms/heavy rain every day to now just cloudy/mostly cloudy and zero mention of rain through Saturday. lol thats quite a change in one update cycle. Not had time to look at the guidance but I am guessing the Atlantic ridge iis flexing and building further west. I guess those showers and storms I see on radar just to my south are going to die before they get here. edit- Looks like there is some sort of issue with Mount Holly's local forecast products.
  21. Seems rain is a bit unnatural in your neck of the woods.
  22. Looks like any significant rain will stay in lower S MD over to about Cambridge and east to the beaches. Probably some generally light scattered showers north of that area and little to nothing NW of I-95.
