Right. I'm talking about mid level banding. -
NAM and RGEM have had worse continuity imo....they were giving me like 20" yesterday. Euro never did that.

No argument there...but if you want high-end events in January, then you need arctic air.

Look at any time frame you want....euro was a whiff most of that modeling evolution, and even close in...it had the death band over extreme s NH....then I smoked exhaust while Brian's chickens did naked snow angels in 34"....so don't tell me the shit was too amped.

There is no reason that the mid level energy should inexplicably evaporate as it enters SNE.

This reminds me of a weaker version of the March 2018 event that nailed e MA with the mid level goodies.

RGEM, UK and GFS all jacked e MA w big totals.....again, I'm not arguing it was ever likely. But e MA does not need deep antecedent cold in mid winter to jack. Just the mid level banding, like anywhere else.

There was some guidance showing a blockbuster, but I agree that it was never really viable.

Answers my earlier question...I'd rather see the GFS do that, than the EURO.

I'm sure @ORH_wxman can hep me here....name the January events that dropped widespread 20"+ over a relatively large area without a true arctic airmass....probably a fairly short list.
