It's Always Sunny Posted January 9 Texas expecting widespread snow beginning today and extending into tomorrow. Feeling pretty good about seeing DFW's ~6 yr >=1" snow drought being broken tomorrow.
It's Always Sunny Posted January 9 12Z coming in a little higher for DFW. Counties SW of Metroplex looking better as well. These WeatherBell maps show different (higher) amounts than COD does anyone know what that's about? I'm guessing it's a resolution thing with their graphical output? EDIT: These amounts are high imo so I think it's a WeatherBell thing.
It's Always Sunny Posted January 9 HREF has 2-4" for DFW which I think is in the realm of possibility if that band sets up further N. I'd lean more towards 2" though.
It's Always Sunny Posted January 10 12Z FWD sounding. Still some dry air to be worked out but temps aloft looking good.
cheese007 Posted January 10 Excited to see what failure mode we get today. TV mets are gung-ho on this which makes me even more pessimistic lol

TexMexWx Posted January 10 It looks like it may already be moving into Tarrant County... so close, yet so far.
It's Always Sunny Posted January 10 SW Fort Worth & Burleson reporting moderate snow.
vwgrrc Posted January 10 Am i right this seems a little more aggressive than HRRR indicated? HRRR says all rain for Denton and Collin since last night. But we see a good area of now in both.
It's Always Sunny Posted January 10 Snow in Arlington!
TXHawk88 Posted January 10 It’s snowing in Grand Prairie, I feel confident we might pull up 1-2 inches here, radar looks decent.
TexMexWx Posted January 10 I'd settle for an inch up here near Murphy, TX. Not sure how feasible it is, still waiting for the atmosphere to moisten up enough over here.
cheese007 Posted January 10 Big question is how far north does it get? Wouldn't be shocked if it stays dry
aggiegeog Posted January 10 Reports west of I-35 def are encouraging but I'm keeping my expectations at 2 or 3 inches between 6pm and midnight.
cheese007 Posted January 10 Still nothing in northwest Dallas county. NWS thought we should be in the thick of it by now
It's Always Sunny Posted January 10 DFW and DAL reporting RASN
cheese007 Posted January 10 Well some wintry precip did find its way up here! Now the real question: does it peter out or pickup and stick?

I'm kind of near where you are but further southwest (just west of DFW) and I'm expecting up to 2". Where you are I think up to 1" is possible.

vwgrrc Posted January 10 SW Denton county started. Looks like NAM is better than HRRR on this!
SWineman Posted January 10 I’m in northwest Tarrant and it’s snowing but not at a fast enough clip to start accumulating. At least we haven’t seen it switch back to rain here.

TexMexWx Posted January 10 Southern Collin County, and also getting flakes here. It can't accumulate at this rate either but it's better than whatever that weak stuff was (here) last January
vwgrrc Posted January 10 SE Denton close to Collin county snowing heavily. Starting to see accumulation on roof
cheese007 Posted January 10 TV Mets and NWS still seem to be bullish on accumulations for whatever it's worth. Still a bit skeptical but I was wrong about the snow...
TexMexWx Posted January 10 Might actually accumulate on the grass at this rate. Moderate snow still falling but melting on pavement
Jestocost Posted January 10 Big fat flakes. Light, light accumulation E Plano.
