Recommended Posts

With the pending event, I thought to post some stats for RIC. Here are the 25 largest March snowstorms officially since 1898. Looks like we'll be adding to this list.

1. 15.2” March 6-7, 1962
2. 13.0” March 1-2, 1980
3. 10.6” March 3-6, 1912...
4. 8.8” March 2-3, 1960
5. 8.4” March 26, 1971
6. 7.9” March 1-2, 1969
7. 7.8” March 20, 1914
8. 6.9” March 27-28, 1947
9. 6.4” March 24-25, 1906
10. 6.3” March 1-2, 2009 and March 8, 1947
11. 6.0” March 30-31, 1964 and March 9-10, 1960
12. 5.9” March 16, 1950
13. 5.5” March 7, 1941
14. 5.4” March 21-22, 1943
15. 5.1” March 2, 1953
16. 5.0” March 1-3, 1978, March 9, 1958 and March 7-8, 1899
17. 4.7 ” March 16, 1960
18. 4.6” March 7, 1941
19. 4.5” March 25-26, 1900
20. 4.4” March 11-12, 1914

Don, you are a scholar and a gentleman. I don't post there often, but do frequently read your updates in the long range thread. Will you be attending the Conference this summer? I feel as if I owe you a beer or two for all your thoughts over the years. Thanks, as always, for those.

I will make sure to share any good photos we get with you for your archive.

Thank you very much for the kind words, Kevin. I'm not yet sure about the conference. My wife, 2-year old and I will be going on vacation at some point this summer, but have not yet finalized the dates. It would be nice to attend, even if only for the major presentations, as I did a few times in the past.

Very best wishes.
