I took a trip to the Black Hills like 15 years ago.  It was mid summer and as we drove out of Rapid City I experienced once of the closest lightning strikes of my like as we drove into the mountains.  As we got higher into the mountains, skies cleared but there were piled of hailed everywhere.

Awesome place for sure.
