June appears most likely (0.2 days/yr) to give D.C. hail, tho hail is such a localized event you'd probably need to analyze other locations to get a full picture. April and September seem least likely, this yr had more April hail reports (2) than any other in the period.

Thunder and NO rain? There were 14 days in June 08 with thunder and NO rain???

No. I meant I counted days that thunder was reported without rain in addition to days with both. The former made a small part of the total.

Gotcha. Wasn't here in 08, so I can't savor the memories that everyone else has of that year.

Ian,

Thanks for compiling. This is interesting info.

I'd be curious to see March when you get a chance to add it.

Added March (and the rest of the months), as well as 2011 numbers against the 30-yr avg. pretty natural curve..
