LOT bumping too. New zone forecast has 6-11" storm total. Up from 4-8".

    Monday Night
Snow in the evening, then light snow likely after midnight. Snow may be heavy at times in the evening. Snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches. Total snow accumulation 6 to 11 inches. Lows 1 to 5 above. Wind chills as low as zero to 10 below zero. North winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation 100 percent.

Per LOT - and already Ricky questioned why the warnings weren’t extended earlier

Made no changes to the location of the Winter Storm Warnings with
this update with explicit deterministic amounts near to just
under criteria for a 24-hour period, but note that based on the
incoming guidance, imagine we`ll need to consider upgrades to
Winter Storm Warnings for some of the area, perhaps Livingston,
Grundy, the rest of Will, DuPage, and Lake IL counties. Will let
the mid shift get one more look at things, but have bumped totals
up a bit across the board with this update.

I know someone who is late 60s and had a heck of a time trying to schedule an appointment to get the vaccine.  Had to make multiple attempts, and finally got in for the middle of March.  I know the process takes time to reach all age groups but come on.  It should not take that long for someone who is almost 70.

Absolutely agree, the roll out in general has been absolutely terrible due to the negligence of the last administration. It is only now things are starting to right themselves some.

There's been no planning for a rollout and just "left up to the states" even thought multinational corporations are the ones handling it.

The wild card going forward.  They think the UK variant is at relatively low levels in the US right now.  At what point does this slow the declining numbers or even lead to a rebound?

U.K. coronavirus strain is doubling in the U.S. every 10 days, study finds

If we would have had more funds and research to testing the variants, we would have known that it was here much earlier than we think.

Next thing to watch will be if there is any increase in cases after Super Bowl gatherings.  When you think about who tends to attend Super Bowl gatherings, probably a disproportionately low percentage have already been vaccinated.  On the other hand, perhaps a disproportionately high percentage of that group has already had covid.

LOL true.  Just made me think
