    Nice tstorm here with heavy rain sw lehigh county. 0.29” has come down in buckets in a short time with a lot more to come. .

    Shockingly sparse radar display at this point of the day based on the forecast. The forecasts from late last week for Sunday through current have been highly inaccurate . The marine influence of the cold easterly flow yesterday is never picked up my forecasts this time of the year. Today seems to lack a destabilizing factor to get the forecasted action going. Hopefully the action to the sw in VA makes it here.

    Closing in on 1/3” up here in Lehigh County and with some luck we may get close to 0.4. Hoped for 1/2” but happy with something rather than nothing. Looks like another 1/4-1/2” on Monday. These things do add up if the consistency keeps going, but it would be nice to see a 1”-2” at some point. .

    0.68” total here in sw lehigh county. It’s certainly better than nothing, but definitely a bit disappointing. We definitely needed a lot more than that. Hopefully we can add at least 1/4” or so and do well next Monday. .

    I have been a weather weenie for decades, and I feel the forecast accuracy has decreased. The weather patterns over the last several years are producing a lot less 1/4” - 3/4” steady rainfalls, which are now just becoming cloudy days like today. The models need to evolve to catch up with the evolving patterns of more extreme dry and wet pattens in which you’re relying on less events to get the same amount of rainfall. I also find it interesting that warm fronts produce a lot less rainfall than they did in our past. Hopefully we can catch a break tonight and get some real precipitation from the approaching line after the bust during the day. The waterways are really low for March.

    The nowcast is trending negative for getting much rain in eastern PA. Hope we see some development. We desperately need a solid 1”-2” rainfall.

    Had a period of very heavy sleet and now back to a mix of moderate freezing rain with some pingers - 27.8 F. .

    28.9 Sleet and Freezing rain here in sw Lehigh County. No flakes at all. Started all sleet, then went nearly all freezing rain, now more sleet. Nowcasting looks like a pretty good mixed event. .

    It’s just light rain with very little left on radar and I am at 1.54”. As the drought guy indicated, the ground absorbed this like a sponge with mostly light to moderate rain much the time, which is great. Hoping to get topped off early next week. And then hoping for a white Christmas and cold 12/21 for PSU vs SMU college playoff game in State College.

    Moderate rain, 1.34” for the event (sw Lehigh County.) Perhaps 1-2 hours of rain remaining. I was hoping for 2” but this is still decent and helps the cause! .

    It is a great day to be a weather nerd. The structure of the low is super neat, and it is interesting to see it warmer in parts of Florida versus parts of Maine this morning.

    34.5 with light snow here in the LV. Only 1.03” of rain for the event, so slightly bummed about that. Hopefully we get a decent liquid equivalent of melted snow today. .

    0.75” rain in the last 24 hours here in Lehigh Valley, not the 1”-2” predicted unfortunately but it is at least something substantial. .

    I think we are in a hell of a drought, and drought begets drought. Nowcasting this looks negative for tonight, particularly vs the initial forecasts of 1”+ rain tonight. I hope my post ages poorly and we get dumped on. I want to be wrong. [emoji3]

    Precip shield does not look promising at the moment for a soaking rain in the Lehigh Valley tonight. Someone plz talk me off the ledge on the subject. [emoji3]

    My God is this an unprecedented drought. And the rain chances over the next few weeks look to be decreasing. I am actually getting worried about water supplies. First fall I can ever remember to be unaffected by tropical systems or coastal lows.

    Well, with one more shower today we ended up at 1.11” sat-mon in this part of Lehigh County. I feel good with water tables and soil moisture, heading into a prolonged dry spell. .

    Like others here, I missed it by a few miles as well. I was scraped a few times by that lone and got some tropical downpours earlier that did not last too long. Cannot complain to be at nearly 5 1/2” month to date. After tomorrow, there is little rain in the extended forecast.
