  1. I had 1.34” from the storms last night. I feel like we’ve been dry for a few summers in August and September, but not this year. .
  2. I had 1.34” from the storms last night. I feel like we’ve been dry for a few summers in August and September, but not this year. .
  3. Getting “clipped” by this in Macungie and it is pretty intense rain and wind, no hail imby. Lots of thunder but it strikes are further away. Already have 0.48” in very short period of time. .
  4. Best time of the year! I love Sept and Oct… warm days, cool nights. An occasional tropical storm is nice too with nor’easters to follow.
  5. 0.94 here in my backyard in the LV and just missed the heavier stuff. It looks like the regional winners were northern Philly burbs, northeastern Lehigh Valley, most of Delaware, and the jackpot of inland South Jersey. Outside of our area it looks like central PA got walloped with rain, State College, Altoona, that area.
  6. Heavy rain this evening up here near Macungie. Already crossed 1/2”.
  7. And I just got another pop-up type storm adding on more beneficial rains .
  8. That training makes it all the way to central Jersey. Impressive. .
  9. Just crossed 2“ for the day up here in sw Lehigh County.
  10. I had 0.90 in my backyard from the two cells today. I was not in the absolute jackpot for the region, but definitely did better than most.
  11. I suspect, but I can’t stay with certainty that the forecasting accuracy has gotten far worse for a place like the Lehigh Valley. I could be talking out of my rear, but I just wonder if overreliance on computer modeling eliminates the way that local human meteorologist would take into account other factors, such as local elevations, microclimates, stable airflows, etc.
  12. Definitely did not verify for the Lehigh Valley.
  13. 0.71” here in sw Lehigh County. Looks like the Lehigh Valley this far is on the lower end regionally while Philly, northern Poconos and Reading all got significantly more. There are a few spots in the poconos that may have gotten several inches per radar estimates.
  14. Well, the afternoon forecast bombed here. Nothing to speak of in the southeastern quadrant of the state.
  15. If it was an nfl Sunday with the eagles playing, the power would already be restored.
  16. I welcome a flooding rainfall event. Maybe not 5” but would like to see 3” this week.We need it in so many ways.
  17. Not as crazy as last night but a bit more rain at a little over 1/2”.
  18. Pretty amazing storm earlier this evening up here in terms of wind. It’s shocking that it lowered the temperatures down to the lower 70s.
  19. I received less than a 10th of an inch. If you look at the precip accumulation map, there is a narrow strip of very little rain along south mountain from Easton all the way to Fleetwood in Berks County.
  20. Unbelievable to be getting 7-10 split again here in the southern Lehigh Valley.
  21. I watered the garden on Sunday just in case we get another 7-10 split!
  22. It was highly detrimental to not get anything from today. My conversation was with a government friend who is a friend of somebody in the authority. They’re very worried.
  23. Word on the street is that the local water Authority is privately very worried about the groundwater situation. Drought guy may want to look into it (seriously.)
  24. Looking at the precip map, the Philly region south of Lansdale down to Wilmington DE did exceptionally well. The southern Poconos also did very well too. The Lehigh Valley and the far northern bucks and Montgomery counties did poorly.
