  1. Excellent, yeah, the B’s have so many moving components, especially the handoff between the primary and the new coastal that it makes it so difficult. Although we certainly have cashed in with both over the years, and have had much heartbreak with both!
  2. So this looking like a classic Miller A, correct? The Miller A’s are easier to forecast and conceptualize.
  3. This cannot be my imagination, light ZR here near Allentown. A light glaze on cleaned surfaces. Didn’t even think it was remotely possible at 12°. What a weird storm.
  4. If only this was all snow! 2 ft for sure. Having trouble rectifying all sleet at 9 degrees for hours.
  5. I was all snow for a minute and now all sleet. We are the diving line up here in the LV. .
  6. I work along the 22 corridor in the LV. For a second, it looked like it was going back to snow, but it is solidly sleet at this point with no flakes.
  7. 75% sleet with some flakes, then 25% sleet and mostly snow and reverted back to sleet. I wonder if the LV is the battleground for the mixline.
  8. Here in southwestern Lehigh County, snowing, but starting to get the occasional dreaded ping mixed in. Still only 10° here and we have to be closing in on 10-11” as I prepare to go to work.
  9. You just had to go with a 6-7 joke…. [emoji3]
  10. Man that sleet line came charging north. I still think it makes all the way to Blue Mountain, perhaps gets into the southern Poconos. Never doubt a still primary low coming up the Appalachians. Always a changeover, no matter what the surface temps are. .
  11. No official measurement as I just took the dog out but at least 5” and 9.6 F. Wish the coastal was off the coast another 50 miles!
  12. Impossible to nowcast this thing. Not as uniform of a precip shield to the west as I would like but I do like seeing signs of the coastal off se coast.
  13. A few miles away from you, sitting at 13.7° and just took the dog out for one last time with no flakes yet in sight. It will be interesting tomorrow to see if Lower Macungie (for those not in this area, a growing suburban lehigh valley township pop 33k) and the state of Pennsylvania can come to an agreement on whose responsibility is to plow state roads like Brookside Road in this area. They had had a disagreement last weekend during that roughly 9 inches of snow and it was not touched for a long time. I am an essential worker so I will be out in it tomorrow afternoon. I drive an AWD vehicle so no problems on my end, just the other idiots out there! [emoji2957]
  14. It has me at 20”-24” up here in the Lehigh Valley ! Crazy. .
  15. Often the wraparound changeover back to snow does not work out, but occasionally it does. Fingers crossed to get a few inches at the end.
  16. Personal final prediction (sleet ruins the fun points south of Poconos) - Mt Pocono - 12-16” all snow, Allentown -8-12” front end and then sleet, Philly - 6-9” front end and then sleet, South NJ/DE 3-6” front end and then mix to rain. If the coastal can become primary faster than forecast, then perhaps Philly and north are all 12-16”
  17. It’s funny watching the various weather forecasting services gradually backing off the extreme snow forecasts. The reality is that when you have low pressure passing this far to the north without the coastal becoming dominant at about VA Beach, doesn’t matter how solid the cold air mass is in place - mixing will race north. It’s been that way forever. I think it gets even into the southern Poconos at this point just looking at the situation this morning.
  18. So many winter storms setup with lines at either South Mountain or Blue Mountain. However, this one worries me with the primary low heading so far north before the transfer to the coastal. Often that is a blue mountain sleet line.
  19. Another 2” on top of about 6” yesterday. The snow that’s falling now is very difficult for the radar to pick up, but it is steady. I am praying for a back build later on! .
  20. Approaching 4” and 29 degrees here near Macungie. A pleasant surprise. .
  21. We’ve had rain of varying intensities the last several hours. I’m up to 0.61”. It looks like it will be winding down soon. .
  22. Final total 2.27” here a few miles away. Too much drought or deluge the last few years! The forecast definitely miss this one. .
  23. Up to 1.88” here this evening with perhaps more on the way in two rounds of storms.
  24. Wow, did not expect nearly an inch of rain this evening. A welcome surprise and good fortune in the center of that band of heavy showers heading into very dry weather pattern.
