  1. Have a warning here as well, seeing some lightning, it's on the doorstep!
  2. ^^^My guess is it will hold together, actually seemed to get a little beefier as it passed through here. Picked up a quick .20", with a little more incoming it looks like. Currently 77F, dp 69. Steamy!
  3. Actually heard a cicada yesterday (annual variety I'm sure). For those who've been having the Brood X, have they wound down?
  4. Got a little thunder, rain, and some breezes, overall not much but it did cool off a bit. The lead up to it was the most impressive. I'm not much of a photographer, but I've been trying to get a video of lightning bugs since they've been out in force here, pretty darn nice to watch. So this is what I got right before the bit of rain, not as many out as once it gets dark, but hopefully you can see the early crowd doing their thing (it's about 17 seconds long then loops):
  5. I guess if you get to 97F you get the more impressive graphic. I like the one with the blazing sun, lol.
  6. Made it to 96F, new high for the season here. Currently 95, dp 73.
  7. I have a couple of electric heaters he can borrow. A kettle fire later on would be nice for winding down the day.
  8. Hopefully you'll have a windscreen or something to block any breezes you might encounter up there. And maybe RedSky could bring his hammock in case you need suggestions or supervision.
  9. Made it to 94F here, currently 93. DP dropped from 75 to 71 in the last hour or two, similarly to yesterday.
  10. Got steam? 81 here, dp 73. Not a cloud in the sky at the moment.
  11. Made it to 93F here, 92 currently. DP was at 75 most of the afternoon, but has dipped to 72 for some reason. I'll have to go outside and experience this reduction in humidity.
  12. Yeah, they're liking the warm weather here too.
  13. Sounds a bit low - are you sure you don't have a window open near your thermometer? (Counting on Paul's sense of humor!)
  14. Glad you're enjoying it! You can do the color commentary if you'd like.
  15. Interesting having a love of weather and fun with fireworks in common. One of my fantasy careers was being an astronaut, but I was too tall to be a pilot, not that I would have necessarily accomplished that. Just tying together weather and fireworks, lol.
  16. Yeah, lol. I was up to 300 feet of fuse at one point - 2 rolls of red, 1 roll of green. I got a kit to make estes type rocket engines, and used to tape them to a stick and plug the upper end with some loose powder on top of the compressed fuel = large bottle rockets. Safety first, for the most part. Wouldn't go there nowadays, you'd wind up in the local newspaper, lol.
  17. Back in the day in the back of Popular Science there was a classified section where they had ads for 100ft of underwater fuse and a fireworks catalog for a dollar, lol.
  18. Not sure about NJ but in PA since 2017. No m80s etc., but smaller stuff and skyrockets, etc. Bottle rocket fights are still illegal however, lol.
  19. Lol. I'm with you on the climbing part, not feeling as nimble as before.
  20. We had a little shower around noon, enough to wet the ground. 84F, DP 73 here now.
  21. A while back I put a hammock up in a tree, about 20ft off the ground, since there weren't 2 trees close enough together to tie it between. So I climbed up there with a six pack of beer and a radio, and listened to the Phillies game, and it was good. When I went to climb down it was dark, and climbing down was "different", lol. I did this a few times and got good at climbing down by swinging from branch to branch out away from the trunk. Good stuff!
  22. How about both at the same time - or two backpack blowers, one in the front and one in the back.
