  1. Yeah, I've checked on that because we've been seeing lightning to the south since it got dark. Looks like a centipede working it's way to South Jersey.
  2. Nah, the thumb disappeared, so a no go for now.
  3. If the thumb on that hand stays up we might get something here. Feels like a long shot, but I hear an occasional rumble of thunder anyway.
  4. Maybe I need to get out more, but am I supposed to know who that is?
  5. Definitely felt like September outside today. Inspiring for doing outside stuff!
  6. Had a warned cell here too, got like 2 hailstones, but plenty of wind and about a quarter inch of rain. Tree across the street lost a couple of large branches, some small stuff here, but not too bad overall. Looking forward to the nice cool-off! Funny, my phone changed hailstones to gallstones.
  7. Okay, so I just heard a couple here, so they're filling in I guess, lol. Nice.
  8. The setting sun is a big orange ball, due to the smoke no doubt. Pretty cool looking.
  9. Looking forward to it, for a couple of days at least. This week overall is much better than last week dewpoint wise.
  10. Those lazy hazy crazy days of summer. 87F here currently, DP a reasonable 71.
  11. I did a little research, they seem to be native to the US east coast and se Canada. Couldn't find anything about a big migration or population explosion or anything like that, so for now it's a mystery.
  12. I only started hearing them around here about 5 or 6 years ago. Don't know much about their migration habits, maybe I'll look it up!
  13. I always thought of them as an August critter, maybe showing up the last week of July? Beautiful day outside!!!
  14. Got 0.62" last evening from what I'll call the main event, didn't really get any measurable earlier, a few drops here and there. Much more pleasant today, thank you! Currently 75F, dp 67.
  15. Getting dumped on nicely here, with decent thunder and lightning. 75F currently with a dewpoint of 70. Nice...
  16. Some thin greens moving in here. Nothing dramatic, but it is raining lightly and slowly cooling down.
  17. Lol, it sure does. Tomorrow looks like a nice change.
  18. Hammock weather! 88F here with DP at 78.
  19. It's like a wall of hot dogs' breath, minus the aroma (depending on the dog). It's also steamy glasses weather, I get outside and put on reading glasses to do stuff on the phone, and because they've been at 71° they fog right up.
  20. Funny I saw the first Spotted Lanternfly nymph here yesterday. Last year was the first year I'd seen them in numbers, and this year at first I thought they might be late due to some spring cool spells. Lately I'd started to think maybe they'd take the year off, or something. Apparently not. They love the Walnut trees here.
  21. 91F here at the moment, with the DP at 71, relatively "comfortable" compared with recent days.
  22. 89F here, DP 73, made it to a high of 90 earlier.
  23. Nice work, and thanks for doing this! Interesting to see it graphically (haha). I think August might show a similar trend, maybe a lot of months would, but it's most noticeable obviously in warmer temperatures. I've experienced more issues with fungus, etc. (with the lawn and plant life) here over the last few years and have wondered if there's a connection. Seems possible.
  24. Not sure if anyone is having dry problems, it's just been real feast or famine since last Friday. Lots of action, but not for everyone. Too much in some spots, and longing radar watching from others, lol. Here we've had 0.25" since last Friday, but 3.41" total for July, so it's not dry here anyway. About the temperatures, it would be nice to have historical dewpoint data, I'm sure these days we're above normal dewpoint-wise, and that's become pretty typical for July and August.
  25. Getting a neighborhood shower here, most rain since last Thursday night (about 0.10"). Not much but nice nonetheless! High here was 91F today, and it was a touch less humid which was slightly noticeable. Eta - wound up with 0.21" of rain.
