  1. I'll chime in again (lol), but maybe it was because it's Christmas and snow on or around this time is something many of us like a lot, and don't see too often. I imagine RedSky longingly looking at past Christmas snows and coming across 1976. Probably something else though, haha. If 1993-94 was the ice winter, 76-77 was the cold winter. We skated on ponds before Christmas that year. I remember thinking what a waste of cold weather, it had been below freezing most days since Thanksgiving. It finally snowed Christmas night here, about 2 inches or so starting in the late evening. It was cold and the snow was real dry, not heavy, but just floating down. It was a beautiful sight! And yeah January was colder. I think they had an icebreaker come up the Delaware.
  2. Lol - or maybe they'd come over! Merry Christmas.
  3. 93-94 was the ice winter here. You could see the grass through 3" of ice in our yard, and you could sled on a 1° incline. Memorable!
  4. Aww man I slept through it. Thanks for trying!
  5. Here it was more like a windshield wiper accumulator. Up to about 10 dipping dots per square inch here on the season. At least we had flakes on Christmas eve! 1st snow pics of the season:
  6. Wake me up if it's snowing at 2 am k thanks.
  7. Lol, I remember. I still say I have to get them developed if I haven't looked at them yet, or haven't downloaded them from my camera. For fun, you know.
  8. To rub salt in the wound, I remember having to shovel snow off the ice in order to play a little ice hockey, lol.
  9. My interpretation is that it was one of the rare times a day 10 epic storm on the models actually verified. Does it still bother you?
  10. I mentioned starting spring cleanup in Feb. (in 2020), and I remember it being in the 40's and 50's. 2 months later in mid April it was still in the 40's and 50's, lol. Currently 32F here with a dp of 14.
  11. I'd have to go back and look to see when it snowed that winter. I do remember starting spring cleanup in mid February. That was around when all the toilet paper disappeared, lol. Wasn't all that long ago but it seems like it.
  12. Lol, got 0.30" here, that's over 1/2" in the last week. Progress!
  13. Same here, it's actually like a heavy light rain, if that makes any sense. Like heavy drizzle but bigger drops.
  14. Welcome back! You didn't miss much weatherwise. There were some "spirited discussions" about other things which you can catch up on :- ).
  15. Got 0.28 here overnight, more than most recent rain events. That's a little encouraging, been getting a lot of dust doing yard work.
  16. The rest was on the 4th. I remember that snow, it was the only one of the season, we got around 11". I think PHL got 8" or so. Don't forget 1972-73, the 1st snow never happened, lol.
  17. It seems like more than a year ago. Maybe cuz there's nothing on the near term horizon.
  18. Yeah, I went back and looked at the thread. Pepperidge Farm remembers when it snowed in December.
  19. It was pretty nice in NW Delco as well. Christmas Eve was a Saturday, it started snowing around 7 am, was heavy by late morning, with thundersnow in the early to mid afternoon! Wound up with 20" and Christmas morning looked like a Christmas card! One of my favorites for a lot of reasons.
  20. Might want to check your 2006 bulb, none of the lights after that are working. However I'd include Dec. 8th 2013 in that list for down here anyway, and while it wasn't huge total wise (6-8") it came down at 2" an hour for 2 or 3 hours (see Eagles game, lol).
  21. Same here. Expecting it to be pretty windy for the next couple of hours based on Mt. Holly's forecast discussion.
  22. Severe t'storm warning here. No thunder or lightning, kind of calm at the moment, but radar says it'll be here within 5 minutes. Kinda cool. Keeping my ears peeled for the sound of distant strong winds approaching.
