Agreed. Seems like the goalposts and thresholds are shifting. Nothing that I see over the next few weeks looks much worse than normal with some + days.

Windows wide open tonight... tons of aerial spraying last night so hopefully none tonight. My backyard is the hockomock swamp, so it was pretty cool to see the planes flying so low.

It can still get hot for sure, but it doesn’t have the same bite at that point. I remember a crazy hot day in September 2013 shortly after college resumed. Upper 90s to near 100 if I recall

59. We end of summer

Working outside, I feel the opposite. Summer is a grind and unless you have copious amounts of vacation time, it drains you. I’m ready for the cooler weather and change of pace

YouTube tv was great. We had it for like 8 months while in our condo. Internet and YouTube tv cost me 80$ month... not bad. Now we just split cable with my parents living in the in law downstairs, so it’s about 80$ still with Comcast when split

They were. I thought I did a decent job breaking up the roots so it would take though. I suppose anything is possible. The rose bushes are bigger, and actually fill in that space better right away than the azaleas, so I figured I’d just pull them instead of waiting to see if they came back next year.

Both azaleas we’re down to sticks at this point. I was able to pull them out of the ground with 2 fingers. Looks like they never actually “took” to the soil... no evidence roots were advancing. Planted rose bushes there instead...hopefully those work out better

At 180 feet deep... I doubt that’s an issue.... but my lawn could use it. Some sprinkles today. Rain fail

I plan on planting more grass and slice seeding first week of September. My other Azalea bush is now browning as well. I wonder if full sun is too much? Or a soil composition issue? When we bought the house the entire front yard was sand. I added about 4-6” of loam over the entire thing and planted what I did. So it’s 4-6” of loam a layer of sand... maybe 4-6” as well? And then more regular soil below that. Could that layer of sandy garbage be screwing with some plants? I figured the roots would take hold deeper than that

Home station down to 61 already here... can we crack upper 40s?

Can anyone tell me what the heck is going on here? The taller tree is a false cypress and I’ve already trimmed a bunch of browning branches off it and you can see it looks like the whole tree has it. The smaller one is a dwarf Alberta that’s been in the ground since April and is suddenly showing showing signs of browning. False cypress has been in since early July.
