  1. That’s the problem with the most public figure on the issue and really the only voice being heard being her. It came off as totally ridiculous and combative. I mean, she was vehemently opposed to teachers going to empty classrooms to zoom from the same setup everyday. I mean at that point, to me, you’ve overplayed your hand.
  2. It’s not hard to know much about teachers unions. They have been plastered all over the news for months. The president of the MTA has been a vocal opponent to any sort of in person learning. Hybrid, reduced class sizes, even teachers going into empty buildings to zoom from their classrooms. This is fact not opinion. Like I said, I don’t know the thoughts of the 100,000+ union members... but the leader, and most vocal member, has been vehemently opposed to any sort of return.
  3. On another note, Massachusetts rejected sports betting, again. I hate this place sometimes. Lawmakers so out of touch with what the majority wants. I wonder if this is another chuck faker personal vendetta like keeping golf courses closed in the spring.
  4. I mean you’d know better than me, but it seems to me that high ranking union officials were pushing very hard, especially early in the fall, to keep schools remote. Like I mentioned before, the general sentiment of teachers I don’t believe matches the union positions. However, the union in a lot of places was fighting to keep schools closed, I think that was pretty well documented. It’s a lose lose proposition at this point I think. People are either getting sick, or mad that schools are not open. Obviously school is not an environment that normally has distancing built in.
  5. Also, cancelled my trip to North Conway next month. Not worth it, nothing will be open even if we are allowed to go.
  6. My brothers girlfriend tested positive today, she works as a dental assistant and was exposed at work, and got it. My brother is awaiting results, but since they live together, we are assuming he has it to. He has no symptoms, her only symptom is loss of taste. Pretty curious how she was exposed at a dental office, when I went to mine, they were decked out head to toe in gear.
  7. What’s the story with American pol?? Every time I try to sign up it says I need to verify my email, yet I never get said email.
  8. They are telling you to cancel thanksgiving without actually coming out and saying it. Mental gymnastics of sorts. So when people say you told us to cancel thanksgiving!!!! They can say no we didn’t, we just strongly advised you don’t travel or invite anyone over.
  9. Charlie Baker threatening Massachusetts residents with reopening roll backs if they don’t follow the rules during thanksgiving.
  10. We are having have either 10 or 11 people over, I wonder if my neighbors will call the swat team in... police busting down the door, ripping turkey out of people’s mouths
  11. People don’t want restrictions, but also don’t want a vaccine; which seems kind of weird and doesn’t make much sense? So you’re afraid of the vaccine but not of actually becoming ill? you can’t have it both ways
  12. Personally, I’d be way more concerned with the potential long term issues from contracting covid than what any potential vaccine could do.
  13. I think the last part is key; if you don’t want the vaccine, fine, that’s your choice, but we shouldn’t be keeping restrictions in place because we have a bunch of people who are unwilling to get the vaccine. After everyone has had access to it, you are on your own. Im not going to keep wearing a mask or not having gatherings because joe blow doesn’t believe in vaccinating.
  14. Looks like we Pfizer. Crank the mass production up, get the needles ready
  15. I’ll take it... good chance it’s going to be required if you want to go to school, hospitals, large events, concerts, sporting events, etc etc. I guess if you’re okay avoiding all that stuff, it’s ultimately your choice
  16. I’m also hearing stories of days and days for tests and results. Doesn’t that kind of defeat the purpose of testing? If I’m sick on Monday, but can’t get a test until Wednesday and then don’t get my results until the following Tuesday, what’s the point?
  17. To be clear, I never supported the type of broadbrush lockdowns we had, and wouldn’t now, either. At the same time, that doesn’t mean I want to throw my hands up and say “oh well, the deaths are what they are” It’s not an either or proposition, I don’t think most folks can afford another lockdown, but we can do things better than we have recently. I’m not personally worried about getting the virus, I’m 26 years old, more than likely, I’ll be fine, but I do have older immune compromised parents
  18. Just in time for everyone to lose their jobs for the holidays!
  19. True, but it also isn’t going to be hard to pick out license plates in a parking lot. This is a little bit different than the summer I think
  20. There has been several doctors ripping Charlie bakers new mask mandate as “pandemic theatre”. He’s now requiring masks at all times in public, even outdoors, which goes against the science that he preaches he’s following 24/7. Those doctors theorize people are going to be skeptical of future requests for compliance because these current measures are totally out to lunch. You aren’t going to get people to follow the rules when it really matters by doing this kind of stuff, which is sad
  21. 94.5% efficacy is incredible, if it’s all on the up and up. That’s the type of number that could end this nightmare sooner rather than later if people will take the damn vaccine.
