  1. Yeah... the idea was brought up about having the top 10% of earners take a 5% pay cut instead of taking raises away from all the lower level folks. As you can imagine, that was quickly met with a lot of backlash. Call me crazy, but I think it makes more sense to ask your big earners (likely 150k+) a year to take a cut instead of asking guys making 50-60k a year to not get a raise.
  2. We were asked to give up our contractually obligated raises this year. Since I am in a union, it had to be voted on. The overwhelming majority voted to forgo raises to help make up budget shortfalls and hopefully prevent layoffs. From the second we voted to give it back, we’ve regretted it. Working guys to the bone, unrealistic expectations on a skeleton crew, etc etc. No good deed goes unpunished.
  3. Working from home has largely been a joke for many people, especially those that weren’t doing it in any capacity before the pandemic. If we currently go to a hotspot we are to quarantine on our own PTO when we return, since we can’t work from home. Folks who can will just work from home. sucks
  4. I suppose anything is possible, but the lines in our neighborhood are all buried. The box is on the edge of my property and the line is buried under the driveway and comes up next to the electric meter on the other side of the driveway.... probably 30-40 feet away. The tech today replaced the “filter” In the box, whatever that is. Ran all new line from the box to the house... grounded the cable wire... boxes up all the connections on the outside of the house... and added a “booster” inside the house. Im a little annoyed that the previous 4 visits didn’t reveal any of these problems, which this tech said were “pretty clear” I know I’ll probably be out of luck, but I’m going to fight them tooth and nail for some sort of refund. Absolutely crazy.
  5. I mowed today for the first time in like nearly 4 weeks. Weeds were getting high
  6. We moved into this house (new) 18 months ago. Our cable and WiFi has been dog shit since we had it hooked up by x-finity. They’ve been out 5 times in that span and can never figure out the issue. Today... a “senior tech” came out and basically had to re do everything, including replacing wires from the box at the road and all the way into the house. The cable wire wasn’t even grounded!!! I’m beyond frustrated.... I want some sort of refund for the last 18 months.. absolutely crazy that none of this stuff was noticed or fixed right off the bat.
  7. My backyard isn’t that big, so I think a pool is out of the question and the price and timelines now are insane with the amount of pools going in. Maybe down the road if we look to move a pool would definitely be on the list. Probably staying put for now though, obviously.
  8. “Didn’t get below 60.. except when it was 58.”
  9. 49 when I left my house at 5:40. Refreshing
  10. Yeah... I think it might be more viable for two people vs a family. The one I was looking at is like 7.99 a person per meal... I guess it all depends on your grocery bill. The cost of groceries has absolutely skyrocketed over the last 6 months or so and with the amount we already pay... might be nice to have 4 concrete meal options a week
  11. Anyone here ever used or currently use a home meal delivery service like hello fresh etc etc? We are looking to reduce waste and maybe even cut costs.... and were wondering if this might be worthwhile?
  12. 53 on my thermo as a I left this morning. Can’t remember the last time it felt this refreshing out.
  13. Yeah... I mean like all of these things, there is an obvious slant.
  14. Yeah... this certainly isn’t America of yore, where the dad could work as a truck driver and support a wife and 8 kids. Pretty sobering article though, what do we do well here? Our healthcare and childcare costs are astronomical.... among other things
  15. 44... actually drove the green on the 8th hole.... dog leg left of about 300 yards... I cut the corner over the trees onto the green.
  16. Played 9 at pine oaks in Easton on Sunday before the rain moved in.... course was in rough shape.... everything was fried to a crisp. Playing crosswinds in Plymouth this Saturday... $79 it’s a little bit more than we like to spend but it looks like a nice track.
  17. Is it a problem for humans? It would be going right into a vent for the stove. Wouldn’t want it to be harmful if it somehow found its way into the stove or something
  18. Yeah.... barely enough to wet the ground here.... .14 over like 8 hours ain’t going to get it done.... I know Matt (butterfish) and Bob did a bit better.... and Matt is pretty close to me so kind of surprising
  19. Not sure what you think is happening here. I’ve had .10 and looks like the bulk of the rain will be south of here from here on out
  20. .10 here. Better than nothing I guess, but looks like we’re going to miss most to the south
  21. Bark is worse than the bite with this rain. Ground is barely wet here
  22. Thanks... I may do that. They’ll die eventually right? But the issue is they may come back next year if I don’t get the nest out.
  23. I lifted the flap of the vent earlier and sprayed wasp killer in there..... only a few flew out... but I could still here them buzzing... so I don’t think I hit the best somehow. I don’t want to just unload like 20 cans of raid in there if I’m not hitting it, so I think we’ll end up calling someone.
