I'm all for being positive, and we should keep a watchful eye given how horrible these models have been. However, with that said.... I think this one is a goner lol. Sometimes you flush, some times ya bust... We will have plenty of opportunties ahead. We have a great snow pack, and a great long lasting cold pattern here. Something else interesting will pop soon! This is the first time in many seasons, avg snowfall or above looks to be easily within reach for many. We still have Feb and March for plenty of chances. This turned into a great winter and im very pleased. -

-8 here in the Poconos. Looks like below zero for overnight lows will be the norm through this weekend. -

Honestly, at around 5 days out, this is a good look. That is one powerhouse being shown. I'm sure some wild solutions are to come on these models. Great trends today. -
You must be real close to Narrowsburg Ny? I have a buddy who lives in Beach Lake. He just called and said the drifts were real bad in that area. I'm just south of Hamlin Pa, on the very northern edge of the Pocono Plateau close to 84.

Picked up a general 1 to 2 inches after the last obs that I posted last night. Measuring this was a nightmare with the wind. I'll call it 15.0" total all said and done. Seeing two 20.0" reports just to my east near Lake Wallenpaupack. I guess it's possible. Great storm!
-
Ended up with around 13.0" in my part of the Poconos as light snow continues. Although, measuring has been hell as I had 35 to 40mph wind gust out here above 2k most of the day. It looks like a general 12.0" to 15.0" being reported out here in the Poconos overall looking at obs. Total ground snow depth from existing snow pack and this storm, now 16.0" to 17.0 in most spots". Seasonal total to date right around 49.0". Could turn out to be an average winter for once, haha. In all honesty, I had horrible snow growth/rates after mid morning, very fine and small flakes. I thought for sure 20.0" was in reach once I saw the sleet would stay well south earlier today. It is what it is though. I will say this, this was one of, if not the coldest event i've ever seen. Temp hung out right around 2 to 3 degrees all day. It's since shot up to a balmy 10. All in all, this was a great event regardless. Especially considering days ago we thought this possibly was hitting well to the south and possibly grazing us. It for sure feels like deep winter out there.

The lull has hit here in the Poconos, so now was a great time to get outside. It stayed 100% snow the entire time here, with the sleet staying down s.e towards the Lehigh Valley. That im grateful for. The nam even had me riding the line for a few runs yesterday, that was a scare. Overall, a very nice storm. The rates actually werent that impressive up here though. Mainly very small/ fine flakes, moderate snow, with heavier bouts time to time. This event was one of the coldest storms that I can rememember, temps all day ranged from 1 to 4 degrees. I dipped the yard stick, right around 12.0" give or take for this event so far. Albeit, extremely hard to measure with the winds howling up here. Looking over obs, general Pocono accumlations so far looks like 12.0" to 15.0" area wide. I guess we will see if we can tack on some more overnight. Overall snow depth now averaging 15.5" to 16.0" when including previous snow pack. Temp is now a balmy 10 degrees and windy as heck, gust up to 35 to 40mph. Its for sure deep winter out there. Seasonal total to date is now 48.5" -

I will prop some fans on my roof blowing south lol. I have about 4.0" inches of snow pack remaining here. Snow on snow is always welcomed. -

If one thing is for certain, this air mass means business. Down to zero right now here in the Poconos. -

Zero degrees here in my part of the Poconos at 630 am. Wind died down some, and snow pack really allowed temps to plummet. This weekend is now looking more interesting. It's a good thing being on the northern edge 4 to 5 days out imo. -

2.0" inches of new snow from today's event in my area of the Poconos. Light snow continues to fall at 26 degrees. The two day snow total is now 6.0". Seasonal total to date is now 36.0". I see Binghamton Nws issued a wwa until 10pm for my area. Total snowfall, 2 to 5 inches. This turned into a very snowy weekend actually. -

That sounds about right. I live 15 minutes north of Gouldsboro off 507, and 30 minutes from Mt. Pocono. I received right around 4.0" here at my location. 380 is a nightmare with any appreciable amount of snow most times, especially from Moscow south/east. The big change is always from the Gouldsboro exit, down to Mt. Pocono. Now you're driving through 1900' to 2000' foot elevations on the plateau. Overall, a nice event in the Pocono area today, for sure. Looks like a couple inches "possible" tomorrow am as well, nice little refresher before the incoming cold. -

Snowing at a great clip here in the Poconos. Eyeballing 2 to 2.5" so far. Nice little event!
