There has been no need to.
It was below average between 12/24 and 12/28. what does it take for you to wear a winter coat, below 10°?

Kevin hasn’t been the same ever since those squalls missed him and MVY had a WSW event. Hate to see it.
Let's follow this stretch with a 2/9/87 redux to really spice things up

Where abouts are you? You must be close to the canal.

about 2 miles south must be steadier snow. I can see the thicker cloud deck just to my south, but only flurries here. ah well

The kid was just asking why it wasn't snowing on Christmas. Now maybe we get one last parting gift as it lifts north

Absolutely pounding again, south side of the island … 8”+ and cranking nice flakes
Awesome. looks like it will be snowy right through Christmas morning

The best is just south of here but the ground is white so can't complain. maybe 1/2" of fluff. I could see there being 1-2" in Falmouth and along 130S down through Forestdale

The GFS still has a signal for 1-2" OES on the Cape Christmas Eve day, from the wsw flow. None of the other models are as bullish
GFS had this first, surprisingly.

Looks like Nantucket will have a white Christmas, based on guidance.
south coasts of RI, and maybe southernmost parts of MA and the Cape as well.
I'll take some flakes on Christmas Eve and maybe if I'm lucky a coating
-
winds have to be gusting 40-50 here at times. could get wild in a bit

Seriously? From a coastal? And there nothing OTG in NW Hills?
80's winters featured some brutal snowless stretches inland with coastal areas sometimes cashing in on grazers. time will tell

Could see 1-2" of Sound Effect Snow SE CT and South County RI
Would be a nice consolation prize for some:

Not much else to hang one's hat on...the long range looks terrible so this is all we got for awhile most likely
I guess..
I'll take having electricity on Christmas Eve/Christmas with a crappy upcoming two weeks of winter
vs
no electricity on Christmas Eve/Christmas with a crappy upcoming two weeks of winter

Gfs is congrats Bermuda. Not close
You can thank that low slamming into the NW just in time to deamplify everything. great timing!

I'm usually in on tracking potential threats even if only a slight chance but this one ain't doing it for me. it would be nice if one model had something

This could out Grinch past Grinch storms if many lose power for Christmas Eve/Day.
Also, MV/Ack white Christmas?

Haven't really checked the ensembles, but the OPs all appear to have an ocean storm around day 9. That could be our next candidate to track for 24-48 hours in the day 6-8 range before it eventually turns to shit
