For downtown, the last 6+ event was that Feb 2018 event (I believe around 8”). In November 2018, we had a DAB downtown. Nov 2015 was a fluke here as well, so last double digit event I’ve seen here was GHDII, 6 years ago

From northern NJ, but the good snow climo part of the state. Yea that was a fantastic storm, I remember it well, and certainly compared to the 24"+ storms I experienced in my childhood in the northeast. I was excited to move to Chicago for the reasons you mentioned (more frequent snowfall, generally colder). I like winter, so I'm happy with that. But it really just doesn't seem the climo is what it used. The grass outside my apartment had a dusting for the first time this winter...mid December. Shouldn't be like that in Chicago several years in a row.

Had the chance to leave yesterday, missed the boat. I would no joke pay $500 to have that flight put back on the manifest today.

Only storm I've seen since moving here even remotely comparable to a good northeast snowstorm was GHD II . Incidentally, that was also the last time I can remember 10"+ downtown, and that was nearly 6 years ago.

Damn. Just damn. Had it all figured out. 6:30pm flight into Logan today. Was going to take advantage of WFH and chase this one down. Flight was just cancelled. The Gods owe us one here. Geez.

Welp, that does it for me. Logan has cancelled all inbound flights from 4pm onwards. Oh well. Have fun guys.

This is really the only good option. The incoming flight is from Charlotte and is the only other flight for this aircraft of the day, so hoping for minimal delays. Gotta hope the weather gods are smiling down on me and pity my poor NE Illinois blood for 3 years of horrendous winters!
